“I was foolish to spend time with him": Gates says he "regrets" associating with Epstein

Bill Gates Opens Up on Ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Calls Himself 'Foolish'

In a rare public statement, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has broken his silence on his close associations with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Gates said he "regrets" ever knowing the pedophile, stating that every minute he spent with him was a "mistake".

Gates' comments come after emails released as part of the ongoing investigation into Epstein's crimes revealed that the tech mogul had previously been friends with the financier. In one email, Epstein allegedly claimed that Gates had contracted an STD from "Russian girls" and had requested antibiotics for his ex-wife Melinda French Gates.

However, Gates' office has rejected these claims, saying they are "false". Instead, Gates described the allegations as a product of a "malicious" email written by Epstein to himself, which was never sent. When asked about his relationship with Epstein, Gates called himself "foolish" for associating with him.

Gates denied ever visiting Epstein's residence in the U.S. Virgin Islands or having any kind of romantic or sexual relations with women or girls present on the island. He insisted that his time spent with Epstein was a "mistake", and expressed regret over it.

The revelations about Gates' ties to Epstein have sparked criticism from some quarters, with many questioning why he did not come forward sooner to address these allegations. Melinda French Gates has publicly urged her ex-husband to take responsibility for his actions, saying that "those people" - including Epstein - need to answer to the consequences of their actions.

As more information comes to light about Epstein's crimes and the relationships of those who knew him, it remains to be seen whether Gates will face any further scrutiny or repercussions. One thing is clear, however: Gates has finally broken his silence on this issue, and his words may carry weight in shaping how we understand this scandal.

🤔 I think Bill Gates' sudden admission of regret over knowing Epstein is a good start, but what's really important now is to hold him accountable for not speaking out sooner. His claims that he was "foolish" and regrets his association with Epstein might be well-intentioned, but they don't exactly fill me with confidence.

I'm also curious about why Melinda French Gates had to publicly urge her ex-husband to take responsibility - didn't she know or suspect something was up? It's a bit suspicious that their relationship seems so... convenient now.

Anyway, I'm just hoping this whole thing gets resolved and we can move forward. The world doesn't need more scrutiny of wealthy celebrities' private lives, but at the same time, someone needs to be held accountable for their actions. 💼

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Bill Gates' response to the Epstein allegations 🤔. I mean, who wouldn't regret knowing someone with a history like that? But at the same time, it's frustrating that he waited so long to speak out about it. As for his call himself "foolish", I kinda get what he's saying - we all make mistakes and learn from them. However, when you're in a position of power, it's not just about personal regrets, but also about accountability 📊.

It's interesting that Melinda French Gates is already taking on the role of "voice of reason" here. I hope Bill takes his wife's words to heart and accepts some level of responsibility for his actions. The fact remains that this scandal is still unfolding, and it'll be fascinating to see how it all plays out 🎭. One thing's for sure - Gates' reputation has taken a hit, but only time will tell if he can recover from it 💯.

I'm shocked he's only now speaking up 🤯. Did you see that new stat about 70% of people believe Bill Gates should've addressed these allegations years ago? It's crazy how much scrutiny he's under now... 23 million Google searches on "Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein" in the past week alone 🚀. I mean, we know his office is saying those emails were fake, but it's hard to trust them after all this comes out. The chart showing a 40% increase in public distrust towards Bill Gates since these allegations resurfaced? Not good for him 😬.

I'm so disappointed in Bill Gates for keeping quiet about his ties to Epstein for so long 🤕. It's like he was playing with fire without realizing it. I mean, come on, Epstein is a convicted sex offender! How could anyone think it's okay to associate with someone like that? Gates saying he regrets ever knowing Epstein just doesn't cut it for me - it should've been sooner! And now Melinda French Gates is right, those people need to face the consequences of their actions. It's all about accountability and taking responsibility for your mistakes 💔.

ugh this whole thing is just so sad 🤕 bill gates was always known as that philanthropic genius but now its like he's human after all...he cant escape the fact that he befriended a pedophile. i feel bad for his ex-wife melinda french gates too, she seems like a strong woman who deserves better than someone who associates with people who prey on kids. anyway, its good that bill gates is speaking out and taking responsibility for his actions but what about all the ppl who knew epstein and did nothing? 🤔

man... bill gates just opened up about his ties to epstein 🤕. i gotta say, i'm shocked he's finally talking about it. like, what was he waiting for? 🤔 his comments are pretty weak tho, saying he's "foolish" for knowing epstein doesn't really cut it. i mean, epstein is a convicted pedophile, gates knew that and chose to hang out with him anyway... that's some serious red flags 🔴.

i also don't buy the whole "malicious email" thing 🙄. if that was true, then why didn't he come forward sooner? seems like he just wanted to distance himself after epstein got caught. i'm not buying it. and melinda french gates is right tho, gates needs to take responsibility for his actions. this is a major scandal and people need to know what's going on. 📰

I gotta say, Bill Gates' response feels kinda late to the party 🤔. I mean, we've known about Epstein's sketchy past for years, so it's weird that he was only just talking about it now 😐. And calling himself "foolish" doesn't really cut it - it sounds like he's trying to downplay his involvement rather than owning up to it 🤷‍♂️. I'm not saying Melinda French Gates is right to be mad, but maybe if Bill had been more proactive about distancing himself from Epstein sooner, we wouldn't have this whole mess now 🕰️. Still, gotta give him credit for finally speaking out - at least he's taking responsibility, even if it's a bit after the fact 💯.

🤔 I think it's kinda weird that Bill Gates took so long to say anything about this 😕... like, what was he thinking not saying anything sooner? 🤷‍♂️ And now he's saying he's 'foolish' for being friends with Epstein? 🙄... like, yeah okay... I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out in the end... 💭

idk why ppl r goin crazy over gates already takin responsibility 4 his ties 2 epstein he's not hidin it now & says he was foolish 2 start talkin 2 him in the first place newsflash: u cant just b friends w/ someone cuz u feel bad about it or think its gonna help ur rep u gotta ask yerself if u were ever actually hurt by epstein or if ur just tryna save face

I'm surprised he's owning up to being a fool for knowing Epstein 🤦‍♂️. Like, if you're gonna be friends with a total scumbag, at least have the decency to not try to downplay it later. And honestly, Melinda French Gates is just adding fuel to the fire by saying those people need to answer to their actions 💁‍♀️. It's like, you're married to this guy and now you're more concerned about him than your own mistakes? 😒

I feel so bad for Melinda French Gates too 🤕. She's been through a lot and I can imagine it must be really tough to see her ex-husband making these kinds of comments now. I mean, yeah Bill Gates called himself "foolish" which is pretty humble, but at the same time it's like he's saying what everyone else was thinking - that maybe he shouldn't have known Epstein in the first place 🤷‍♂️. It's just weird that it took him so long to speak out though... 2004 already feels like a million years ago 💔. Anyway, I hope Melinda can find some peace and that Bill takes responsibility for his actions 👍.

Ugh, can't even trust a billionaire with a decent excuse 🤦‍♂️. Bill Gates just called himself "foolish" for hanging out with Epstein, which is just rich coming from someone who's basically made a career out of being in the same room as powerful, yet questionable people 💼. Like, what did he expect? A 'Best Friend' award or something? 🤔 Anyway, kudos to him for finally speaking up (about 10 years too late), but I'm still waiting for his explanation on why Melinda didn't kick him out of the house sooner 😒.

man... bill gates just spoke up about being friends with jeffrey epstein 🤦‍♂️ and i gotta say its kinda surprising that he did it now, feels like he's trying to clear his name or somethin 💁‍♂️. i mean, i get why he'd want to set the record straight but still... how could someone who's as influential as him not speak up sooner about this? 🤔 especially when its about a guy like epstein who's done so much harm to people.

anyway, bill gates seems genuinely sorry for his association with epstein and i appreciate that he's owning up to it 💯. hes also really clear that he never did anything wrong or hurt anyone in person, which is good to know 🙏. its just unfortunate that this all came out now, when the spotlight is on him again 💡.

i hope bill gates can move forward from this and use it as a chance to do some good for others who might be affected by epstein's crimes 💖. we should all strive to learn from our mistakes and do better next time 🤓

omg this is so messed up 🤯, i feel bad for bill gates and melinda french gates but like they need to be held accountable too. he's not getting a free pass just because he's rich or influential. it's crazy that people think only pedos are the ones who should face consequences... newsflash: we're all responsible for our own actions 🤷‍♂️. and btw, if melinda is saying bill was "foolish" for knowing epstein then why didn't she say something sooner? seems like a pretty convenient excuse to me 💁‍♀️. anyway, this is definitely a wake-up call for all of us to be more mindful of who we surround ourselves with 👀.
