i'm all for reform but how do we know these new systems aren't just gonna be used as another way to control ppl? and whats with this token gesture vibe, we need real change not just a bunch of fancy tech and new faces at the top. 12 years is a looong time to be locked up, i feel for those who are still behind bars. some states are actually doing stuff right, but it's like a drop in the ocean when u think about it. we need systemic change not just individual fixes. and btw, whats with the name 'correction officers' anyway, sounds like they're doin more correction than correcting anything

Man I'm so tired of hearing about all these prisons and how people get stuck in there for years and years... it's like, what's the point? In my opinion, we need to take a closer look at why we're creating these systems that are just gonna keep on perpetuating violence and neglect. I mean, I was in for 12 years and it changed me so much, I don't even recognize myself anymore... and I'm not the only one.

It's crazy how some places have like zero oversight, and it's no wonder things get outta hand... but the thing is, we gotta shine a light on this stuff, you know? The Storyteller wants change to happen, and I think if more people like Governor Hochul take steps towards making reforms, maybe we can finally start getting those prisoners the help they need.

I mean, come on... America's prisons are literally killing us. Like, 12 years is way too long to spend behind bars for one mistake. The fact that correction officers are allowed to use violence at will without consequence is just sickening. And don't even get me started on the whole black market thing - it's like they're intentionally creating a culture of corruption and abuse.

I think what really gets my goat is when people say "oh, prisons are meant to be tough" or "prisoners need discipline." No, that's just a nice way of saying "we don't care about the human cost." I've seen firsthand how these systems can break people - and it's not just the prisoners who suffer, either. The families, the communities... everyone gets caught in the crossfire.

But hey, there are glimmers of hope, right? Like those prisons in Maine that are using digital tools to document abuses or reform programs that actually work. It's about time we shine a light on this stuff and demand some real change. We need transparency, accountability, and actual reform - not just empty promises or bureaucratic hurdles.

Ugh I'm literally so done with the state of America's prisons , it's like they're intentionally trying to break people. 12 years is way too long to be locked up just because of a shootout that was basically a misunderstanding... it's not even fair . And now we find out that guards are literally using violence against prisoners for fun? That's just sick . But you know what the worst part is? The fact that this has been going on for decades and nobody's done anything about it .

And then there's the so-called "reform" efforts... like, what even is that supposed to mean? A digital tool or two isn't gonna fix the systemic problems . We need real change, not just PR stunts . I mean, come on America, we've had 2.5 centuries of prison systems and it's still basically just a form of punishment... like, what are we even doing here?
