Ice sculptures, chowder and beer will take over Manayunk for Founders Philly Freeze-Out

Manayunk is gearing up to host its annual Founders Philly Freeze-Out event on January 31st, transforming Main Street into a vibrant winter street festival that promises a fun-filled day for all ages. Over 20 stunning ice sculptures will be installed throughout the neighborhood, with live carving demonstrations taking place at several locations along the main thoroughfare.

The festivities kick off early in the morning with a casual group run for runners who want to get their hearts racing before the main event gets underway. Registration is free, but advance sign-ups are necessary. Afterward, visitors can enjoy an array of family-friendly attractions, including a winter market, food trucks, a moonbounce, and even a walk-through igloo.

In addition to these activities, participants in the Founders Philly Freeze-Out will have access to beer specials at participating bars, as well as shopping deals galore. However, it's worth noting that some of these perks come with an additional fee โ€“ namely, the cost of buying tickets for food and drinks, or opting into the Manayunk Chowder Crawl.

The latter offers a mouth-watering sampling of local chowders from participating restaurants, each putting their own unique spin on the winter staple. Tickets for this event start at $18 in advance. While the main Freeze-Out event is free to attend, there will be some road closures along Main Street to accommodate the crowds.

For those who are looking to indulge in some of Manayunk's culinary delights, Founders Brewing has got you covered with their beer specials and live music throughout the day. The festival promises a fantastic day out for all, from kids to adults, with something to keep everyone entertained between stops.

๐ŸŽ‰ omg this sounds like so much fun!! who doesnt love ice sculptures and food trucks ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒฎ plus they got beer specials which is def a bonus ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ‘ i wish i could make it to the main event but road closures might be a bummer ๐Ÿ˜ still cant wait for jan 31st tho ๐ŸŽŠ has anyone tried manayunk chowder crawl tho? its $18 and i dont know if thats worth it lol ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿค”

๐ŸŽ‰ I'm so stoked about this event! Who needs fancy New Year's Eve parties when you can have an entire street fest dedicated to winter fun?! ๐ŸŒฒ The ice sculptures are gonna be insane and I love the idea of live carving demos - it's like something straight outta a movie! And food trucks with chowder? Count me in! ๐Ÿ˜‹ The thing that's got me thinking, though, is how they're doing all this while keeping Main Street open. Like, what if it gets too crazy and they have to shut down? Would be bummer if you had plans and stuff didn't go as planned ๐Ÿค”

I love how Manayunk is turning Main Street into a winter wonderland ๐ŸŽ„โ„๏ธ! 20 stunning ice sculptures and a fun-filled day of activities for all ages? That's just what we need to get us through the cold winter months ๐Ÿ˜Š. And, I'm totally down for the casual group run at the start of the day - who says you can't have your cake and run it too, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Plus, the idea of a moonbounce and walk-through igloo is just genius ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ”๏ธ. Let's raise our cups (of hot cocoa โ˜•๏ธ) to Manayunk for hosting such an awesome event! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

I'm not sure I agree with how this event is being funded ๐Ÿค‘. On one hand, it's awesome that they're bringing the community together and offering so many fun activities for all ages. But on the other hand, some of these perks feel like they're nickel-and-diming people for every little thing. Like, why do you need to pay extra for a beer special just because you want to enjoy a drink? It feels like they're trying to make a profit off people's enthusiasm for the event.

I mean, think about it, if this was a public park or something, we wouldn't have these kinds of issues. But since it's a private business (Founders Brewing), I guess that's just how the market works ๐Ÿ“Š. Still, as a community, shouldn't we be able to enjoy events like this without feeling taken advantage of?

Ice sculptures everywhere ๐Ÿคฉ! I think it's so cool that they're setting up this whole winter wonderland on Main Street in Manayunk. Who wouldn't want to walk around and see all those intricate ice sculptures? And the fact that there are live carving demos is just awesome... like, you can actually watch them make these beautiful things in front of your eyes ๐ŸŽจ

And oh man, a moonbounce and an igloo? That sounds like so much fun for the kids (and let's be real, adults too ๐Ÿ˜‰). I love that they're offering all these different activities, from family-friendly stuff to beer specials... there's something for everyone. Although, I do wonder why some of those perks cost extra money ๐Ÿค‘. Still, it looks like it's gonna be a super fun event!
