Meanwhile, Black tenants account for just 14% of reported cases, despite making up approximately 33% of the building's population .

A total of 27 evictions were filed against tenants in the last quarter alone, with a significant majority being filed within the past month . It's not looking good, people... The trauma caused by these raids is real, and we need to hold those responsible accountable .

I've also been digging into the numbers on immigration enforcement operations in Illinois, and it's shocking how many lives have been disrupted . In 2025 alone, over 1 million undocumented immigrants were deported or arrested . This isn't just a community issue; it's a human rights crisis .

The latest FBI data shows that since President Trump took office in 2023, deportations have increased by 35% . Meanwhile, the number of asylum seekers at U.S.-Mexico border crossings has risen to an all-time high, with over 1.2 million individuals arriving in 2024 .

It's time for us to come together and demand change . We need stronger protections for tenants, equal justice for all, and an end to these destructive immigration enforcement operations .

I don’t usually comment but this whole thing is super sketchy . Like, can you believe the landlord would go around tipping off cops on their own tenants just to scare them away? It's wild that it's even a question if they did or not . Governor Pritzker is on point saying no way to this kind of stuff though - housing should be safe for everyone, regardless of immigration status . And yeah, witnesses describing traumatic scenes like kids being separated from their moms is just heartbreaking . This investigation better get to the bottom of it ASAP .
