omg i cant even rn lol they r tryin 2 fix the traffic problem in nyc but ppl r all over the place about it like some say its a good idea and others r all "no way dont do it"
i feel for the kids who lost their lives tho, it's so sad that we gotta deal with this on top of everything else. i think daylightin 20ft parking spaces might actually work tho? idk if itll solve everythin but at least its a start right?
and lol @ ydanis rodriguez sayin dat universal daylightin wudnt improve safety lol what r they even tryin 2 prove? anywayz i guess we just gotta wait and see what happens next
u guys its been crazy lately 20 yrs old die at NYC intersection every week its like a tragedy waiting to happen these lawmakers r right we cant just keep losing kids over some stupid parking space daylighting streets is the way forward i mean hoboken nj has done it and seen zero traffic deaths in 8 yrs its not that hard lets hope our mayor gets on board and implements this ASAP
I think this whole situation is really concerning and we should be doing more to improve our streets. We've seen like, what 30+ kids die in NYC already, that's just heartbreaking. This daylighting thing could actually work if implemented right . I mean, Hoboken did it and didn't see a rise in accidents, so maybe it's worth trying. It's not about getting rid of parking spaces entirely, but more about how we use them - like, could we make some of those spaces into bike lanes or something? We should be thinking about safety above all else . The fact that Ydanis is saying it won't improve safety just because of congestion is pretty baffling to me . I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens with this bill, but fingers crossed they do something about our streets before more lives are lost
omg I'm so frustrated about these child fatalities NYC needs to do something ASAP! like literally daylighting intersections is a great idea... I mean think about it, fewer cars on the road = less chance of accidents. and who cares about parking spaces?! they're just taking up space that could be used for better things. like bike lanes or pedestrian-friendly zones . I'm all for making our streets safer!
I just can't believe how many lives are lost every year due to reckless driving . My little cousin's friend was hit by a car when he was just 10 years old, it still hurts me thinking about it . We need real change, not just some half-hearted solution like daylighting parking spaces. How hard is it to make streets safer for kids? Apparently, it's harder than we thought .
And Ydanis Rodriguez is saying that daylighting won't improve safety, but what does he know? My brother's friend is a firefighter and he's seen way too many kids getting hurt in accidents. This bill needs to pass ASAP before more lives are lost .
