Ugh, I'm so glad someone's finally bringing this to light . Like, who thought it was a good idea to torture poor dogs for science?! It's crazy how some people can justify such cruelty just because it's "research" . But honestly, it's not like we're talking about saving lives here - we're talking about animals being treated like, well, lab rats . And the fact that some people are already pushing back and saying it'll hurt the state's competitiveness? Come on, can't we find a way to make progress without sacrificing our values?

I'm totally down with this move ! I mean, think about it - we've got all these amazing tech and medical breakthroughs happening, and yet we're still subjecting poor dogs to pain just so scientists can figure out some new lab trick . It's time for us to step up our game and find more humane ways to do research.

And I love how Brock Wright and his fiancée Carley Johnston are leading the charge on this one - they're not just talking the talk, but also walking the walk . And let's be real, if dogs are considered family in Michigan homes (and who wouldn't agree with that? ), then we shouldn't be treating them like disposable lab rats .

Now, I get what some of these research groups might say - "but what about the science?" or "what about our competitiveness?" But let's not forget that there are so many amazing human-relevant research methods out there now, and we're seeing more and more breakthroughs thanks to them .

It's time for us to join up with the rest of the world and make some real progress on this front . Queenie's Law is a great step in that direction - let's hope it passes soon!

can u imagine bein livin next door 2 these labs & knowin ur dogs r bein used 4 painful experiments i dont think its right that our tax $$$ go towards hurtin innocent animals...its time fer us 2 take a stand 4 queenie & all the other poor souls who got caught in da lab grind

I'm totally with Brock Wright and his fiancée on this one . I mean, come on, we're a state that loves its dogs, so why are they still doing painful experiments on them? It's not like it's necessary for science anymore - all these new human-relevant research methods are showing us that we can do just as much (if not more) without harming innocent animals . And let's be real, Queenie's story is a total tragedy . We should be the ones to set an example, not the US . It's time for our lawmakers to step up and make Michigan a leader in animal welfare, not just in research

I think its kinda crazy that some ppl still think dogs should be treated like lab rats . If we can develop a human heart model at MSU, why do we need to torture dogs in labs? It just don't make sense to me... and I feel for Queenie's family, she didn't deserve to die . I hope Brock & Carley's letter helps bring an end to these painful experiments

I'm still thinking about Queenie... It's crazy that some people think dogs are just tools or disposable things, you know? I have a friend who has a dog, and she would never do anything to hurt it. Dogs are part of our families, for real! And yeah, the research is moving in a better direction - I mean, have you seen those human heart models at Michigan State Uni? It's like, we don't need to use animals anymore... why not just be kind and humane, right? The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that this Queenie's Law thing is a good idea.
