LPGA Tour: Nelly Korda leads Tournament of Champions as England's Lottie Woad falls back after four bogeys in five holes

Nelly Korda is pulling away from the pack as she leads the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Florida. The American star carded an impressive eight-under 64 on Saturday to catapult herself three strokes clear of the leaderboard, including England's Lottie Woad and Olympic gold medallist Lydia Ko.

Korda's stellar round saw her rack up seven birdies and an eagle, although she did suffer a sole blemish at 17. Despite being forced into "survival mode" by the blustery conditions, Korda demonstrated her mental toughness as she navigated the treacherous layout. The 27-year-old's performance has been a testament to her growing maturity on the course.

On the other hand, Woad's hopes of claiming victory are rapidly slipping away. The young Englishwoman suffered a dismal run of bogeys in five holes on the front nine and was unable to recover from the setback. Despite starting strongly with an opening birdie, she shot three over through 16 holes, leaving her eight shots adrift of Korda.

Woad's struggles are not entirely surprising, given her recent form has been somewhat inconsistent. The 22-year-old secured two Ladies European Tour titles last July, but since then, her performance has been patchy. Ko, on the other hand, remains a threat to Korda's title bid and is currently sitting five shots behind the leader.

The final round promises to be an exciting conclusion to this event. With three holes remaining in Ko's third round, she still has a chance to mount a comeback. However, it will be a tall order for her to close the gap with Korda holding a significant lead. As for Woad, it's a case of damage control and trying to salvage what's left of her tournament.

I'm loving Nelly Korda's determination on the course right now ๐ŸŒด. She's really showing off her growth as a golfer and I think she's got this title in the bag! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Lottie Woad, I feel for you girl... it's tough to bounce back from that front nine though ๐Ÿค•. And Ko, don't count her out just yet! 5 shots behind is still a lot of ground to cover, but she's proven herself on the course before ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ. It's gonna be so interesting to see how it all plays out in the final round โฐ...

Korda's on fire ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ! I mean, she really showed off her skills out there despite those crazy winds. It's like she's got this mental game down pat, you know? And I gotta say, Woad's struggles aren't super surprising considering she's been a bit meh lately โฐ๐Ÿ’”. But still, Ko's got some fight left in her, so it'll be interesting to see how that all plays out on the final round ๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‘€

Ugh, golf is soooo dramatic ๐Ÿคฃ... like, who dies from a few bogeys on the front nine? Lottie Woad's having one of those weeks where everything that can go wrong does ๐Ÿ˜ฉ, but hey, at least she's not the only one struggling. Lydia Ko's still in it, though - gotta respect her for sticking around and trying to mount a comeback. Nelly Korda's on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ, and if she keeps this up, I'll be eating my words (which are probably already being eaten by someone else because Korda's that good).

I'm totally craving some good old-fashioned BBQ today ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒฎ! I was at this amazing food truck fest last weekend and they had the most incredible pulled pork sandwiches... my mouth is watering just thinking about it ๐Ÿ˜‹. Anyway, back to golf - I think Korda's lead is pretty safe, but Ko's still got a shot. Have you guys been following the LPGA tour? I've been watching some of the highlights and I'm loving Lydia Ko's game ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ. But hey, who needs golf when there's food to eat, right? ๐Ÿคช

I'm not sure about all this fuss over Nelly Korda... ๐Ÿค” I mean, 8 under 64 is impressive, don't get me wrong, but eight birdies and an eagle? That's a bit too perfect for my taste ๐Ÿ˜’. And what's with the wind? Like, can't they just have a normal golf tournament for once? โ›ณ๏ธ

Lottie Woad's struggles aren't entirely surprising though... I mean, she did start off strong ๐Ÿš€, but then that front nine just went downhill ๐Ÿ”๏ธ. You can't come back from that easily. And Lydia Ko's chances of winning are looking slim, even if she does have a few holes left to play โฐ.

It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out on the final round, but I'm still not convinced anyone's going to catch Korda... ๐Ÿ˜. Maybe I'm just too skeptical ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Ugh, another day on tour where Lottie Woad shows up to get blown away by Mother Nature ๐ŸŒช๏ธ. Like, I feel bad for the poor girl, but come on, three bogeys in five holes? That's not even a golf-related blemish, that's just a "I'm-a-woman-on-tour-and-I-need-to-have-a-good-briefing-from-my-team" issue ๐Ÿ˜‚. On the other hand, Nelly Korda is just over here like a pro ๐Ÿ™„ - 8 under 64? Easy peasy, right? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Still gonna be interesting to see how Lydia Ko manages to close that gap in the final round...

omg u guys i cant believe nelly korda is killing it out there!!! ๐Ÿคฏ she's so consistent and mentally tough, its like she's in a zone ๐Ÿ˜Ž and those 7 birdies and eagle are insane ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿฆ… lottie woad was having a rough day though, hope shes back to form soon ๐Ÿคž lydia ko is still in the game tho, gotta keep an eye on her for the final round ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿคฏ I'm loving Nelly Korda's performance so far! She's literally crushing it out there. I mean, eight-under 64 is insane! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ It's like she's got this mental toughness thing down pat. Can't wait to see how Lydia Ko plays in the final round, but I gotta say, Korda's got this one locked up ๐Ÿ”’. Poor Lottie Woad though... those bogeys are just adding up ๐Ÿค•. Still, not surprised her form has been patchy lately... 2 Euro Tour titles last year is a big achievement, but consistency is key, you know? ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm just watching this tournament and I gotta say, Nelly Korda is on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒด! Reminds me of when Tiger Woods was dominating back in the day ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’ช. This young American golfer has got some serious game, and it's awesome to see her taking the lead like that. And poor Lottie Woad, man... I feel for her ๐Ÿ˜”. She was playing so strong at first, but those bogeys just killed her momentum. Maybe she can bounce back in the final round? ๐Ÿคž

You know what would've been cool? If Lydia Ko had taken on some of the older tour legends like Annika Sorenstam or Se Ri Pak back in their prime ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ต. I bet those ladies would've given her a run for her money ๐Ÿ˜‚! Anyway, it's gonna be fun to watch the final round unfold ๐Ÿ“บ. Bring on the drama and excitement! ๐ŸŽ‰

OMG u no wntn 2 guess how Nelly Korda is gonna do? ๐Ÿค” i think shes def got this!!! ๐Ÿ˜Ž she played soooo well on satrday & its hard 2 imagine anyone catchin up 2 her lead. Lottie Woad's probs just outta luck right now, lol. ๐Ÿ™„ lydia ko might stil manage 2 pull off a comeback tho, she's always been good @ that ๐Ÿ’ช. woad's form has b4en pretty sketchy lately tho... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ hope shes can bounce back tho! ๐Ÿ‘
