Man bailed by police after alleged football elbow assault

Man Arrested for Alleged Football Elbow Assault Bailed on Conditional Release

A 35-year-old man has been released on conditional bail following an alleged attack during a North Wales amateur football match. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is said to have suffered an elbow injury allegedly inflicted by the suspect during the Ardal North West League game between Trearddur Bay and Porthmadog.

Footage of the incident, which took place at Y Traeth stadium in Gwynedd on January 17, has circulated widely on social media. Police have confirmed that the man was arrested on suspicion of assault and are now investigating the matter further.

District Inspector Iwan Jones said that police were working closely with the victim to gather evidence and appealed for anyone who filmed the incident to come forward, so they could include their statement in the case file submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service. "Sharing certain information or speculating about guilt or innocence can have serious consequences," he warned.

Both teams involved in the match have expressed regret over the incident, with Trearddur Bay apologizing for what happened and releasing player Tom Taylor following an emergency general meeting of their committee on Sunday. Porthmadog FC confirmed that injured player Danny Brookwell is recovering at home after suffering a concussion during the game.

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has also launched its own investigation into the incident, with no further comment from either team or the governing body available for now as the matter remains under investigation.

omg this guy is lucky to be out on conditional release ๐Ÿคž he's gonna have a permanent scar on his elbow and the concussion is no joke ๐Ÿค• did you see the footage? it was so intense ๐Ÿ˜ฒ what's even more wild is that both teams are apologizing for the incident, like who does that in real life lol ๐Ÿ‘€ trearddur bay releasing tom taylor already shows they're taking responsibility โšฝ๏ธ and btw have you seen the stats on football injuries? it's a leading cause of concussions & elbow problems ๐Ÿคฏ did u know that 1 in 5 ppl who play rec league soccer experience knee pain ๐Ÿ˜“

๐Ÿค” like how some games are so intense they can turn violent, and now this guy is facing serious charges because of it... but i feel bad for the player who got hurt, a concussion isn't nothing to mess around with ๐Ÿค• especially when you're still trying to get back into the game after just getting started ๐Ÿ˜ฌ what happened before the elbow came flying? was it a tackle or just a heat-of-the-moment thing? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ and btw, if anyone who filmed that game has evidence they can share with the cops, they should definitely reach out ๐Ÿ“น

omg did u see that video of the footy player who got hit in the elbow?? ๐Ÿค• i feel so bad for him he's gonna be out of commission for a while i hope the guy who did it gets charged tho, like how can u just hurt someone like that? ๐Ÿšซ and honestly its not just the player who's affected his whole team is in this now trearddur bay should've had some kind of security presence at the game lol i mean whats going on with these amateur leagues anyway? ๐Ÿค”

Man, this is crazy ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, what's going on here? You're playing a game of football, having fun with your mates, and then suddenly someone gets hurt. It's not about the win or lose, it's about being human and treating others with respect.

This incident is a reminder that our actions have consequences, and we need to think before we act ๐Ÿค”. The suspect in this case might be feeling regretful already, but what if they don't learn from their mistakes? What if it becomes a habit?

We all make mistakes, but how we respond to them matters ๐Ÿ’ช. Let's take this as an opportunity to reflect on our own behavior and make sure we're being kind and considerate towards others. That's the real win here โ€“ not winning the game, but being better people โค๏ธ.

๐Ÿ˜’ This whole thing just feels like another example of how quickly things can escalate on a football pitch. I mean, two guys having a tiff and next thing you know, someone's getting bailed on conditional release... it's just crazy. I've seen some rough stuff in my playing days, but this takes the biscuit ๐Ÿช. You'd think that with all the cameras around nowadays, we could get to the bottom of these things without resorting to arrests and bail conditions. Still, gotta give credit where credit's due - the police are taking it seriously and working hard to get to the truth. Fingers crossed Danny Brookwell makes a speedy recovery from his concussion ๐Ÿ’ช.

๐Ÿคฏ Interesting that the footage of the alleged assault is still circulating on social media ๐Ÿ“น... makes you wonder if it's true what happened on the pitch ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The fact that both teams are apologizing and taking responsibility is a good sign ๐Ÿ’ฏ, but still, this kind of behavior needs to be taken seriously โšซ๏ธ. Police investigation is just the start, hope justice gets served ๐Ÿ™...

I don't usually comment but... I feel kinda bad for both teams involved in that match ๐Ÿค•. An elbow to the head is super serious and can cause some nasty concussions ๐Ÿ˜ณ. You can tell from the footage it's not a normal tackle, you know? The victim's identity being kept secret is probably a good thing, though - less pressure on them now ๐Ÿ’ฏ.

I'm glad the police are taking this seriously and working with the teams to get to the bottom of it ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And kudos to Porthmadog FC for releasing their injured player - that's super responsible ๐Ÿ™Œ. I hope Danny Brookwell makes a full recovery from his concussion soon ๐Ÿ’ช.

I don't know about the FAW's involvement, but sometimes these governing bodies can be a bit slow on the draw โฑ๏ธ. Still, at least they're looking into it and trying to make sure justice is served ๐Ÿค.

๐Ÿค• I feel so bad for that guy who got injured on the football field ๐ŸŸ๏ธ. You can just imagine how painful it must be to get hit in the elbow like that ๐Ÿ˜“. And the worst part is, people are already making assumptions about what happened before the cops have even figured out if the other guy did or didn't do anything wrong ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I think both teams should really take responsibility for not being more careful and looking out for each other on the field ๐Ÿ’ฏ. It's a shame that someone had to get hurt because of it ๐Ÿ™. And what's with all these videos popping up online? Can't we just focus on letting the authorities do their job without spreading rumors around ๐Ÿ“น?

It's also pretty cool that the police are working closely with the victim to gather evidence ๐Ÿ’ป. That shows they're taking this seriously and not just going through the motions โฐ. Fingers crossed everything gets sorted out soon and the guy can get back on the field without any issues ๐Ÿ˜….

aww man, that sounds so brutal ๐Ÿค•... i feel bad for the guy who got hit in the elbow, must've been super painful ๐Ÿ˜“... and poor Tom Taylor got released from his team after being accused of something he might not even be guilty of ๐Ÿ˜”... it's just really frustrating when these things happen, especially during a match where everyone's supposed to be having fun ๐Ÿˆ... i hope the guy who was arrested is okay, but at the same time, i hope justice gets served and whoever did this gets held accountable ๐Ÿ’ฏ... it's all so stressful for everyone involved ๐Ÿคฏ.

OMG u gotta wonder wut kinda person is out there on pitch? Like, elbowing someone in the face & that's not even a foul ๐Ÿคฏ! The FAW needs 2 look into this proper 1st & see if they're as serious about player safety as they r about winning matches. I mean, we all know it's a contact sport, but c'mon, that was nasty ๐Ÿ˜ท. Anyone who hurt Danny Brookwell or Tom Taylor should be banned from the game for life, no questions asked ๐Ÿ’ช. And btw, Trearddur Bay releasing Tom Taylor after just 1 match? That's not cool bro ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

OMG this guy sounds like such a bad sport ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ! I mean, who kicks someone in the elbow on the field? That's just not cool at all ๐Ÿ˜’. Glad to see the authorities are taking it seriously though ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Hope the victim recovers soon and gets back to playing the game he loves ๐Ÿ’ช. Poor Tom Taylor got benched over this ๐Ÿค•, that's some harsh stuff right there ๐Ÿ˜ณ. Can't believe this happened on a match day too... just devastating ๐Ÿค•

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ I'm soooo shocked that someone got hurt during a friendly footy match! ๐Ÿˆ๏ธ It's like, what even is the point of getting all physical and aggressive on the pitch? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, I know it's just a game, but still... ๐Ÿ™„

And can we talk about how serious this situation is? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ The police are investigating and everything! It's not just like a silly prank that everyone laughs off afterwards. There needs to be consequences for what happened ๐Ÿ’ฏ.

I don't think it's fair that the teams involved have already released their players, though ๐Ÿค”. Like, what if they need time to recover properly? ๐Ÿค• And I hope the victim is feeling okay soon ๐Ÿ’•. This just gives me a bad vibe, you know? ๐Ÿ˜

omg what was that guy thinking ๐Ÿคฏ?? some people have no idea how hard a football elbow can hurt ๐Ÿ˜ฉ i've seen it happen in training sessions before and it's not pretty ๐Ÿ’” anyways hope the guy who got injured is okay, sounds like he had a bad concussion ๐Ÿ™ and poor porthmadog fc releasing that player mid season must be tough for them ๐Ÿ˜ž

๐Ÿค• sounds like someone's gonna be out of the game for a while ๐Ÿ˜ฌ, 35-year-old dude did something that hurt another player pretty badly ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ... hope he gets some help to sort himself out ๐Ÿ’ก... gotta wonder what was goin' on in his head when he threw that elbow ๐Ÿ’ฅ... teams seem decent about it, releasing players from their commitments and all ๐Ÿ™... but still bad news for the sport, y'know? ๐Ÿ˜

can you believe some people still can't control themselves on the pitch ๐Ÿคฏ like what's going through that guy's mind? one elbow to the face and he's just walking away ๐Ÿ’” meanwhile, poor Danny Brookwell is dealing with a concussion after a legit collision ๐Ÿ’ฅ shouldn't football be about sportsmanship and respect for your opponents by now?

๐Ÿค” this whole thing feels off to me... like there's more to it than just a random football brawl ๐Ÿˆ. I mean, what are the chances of someone filming the entire incident and not realizing they're part of some kind of police sting operation? ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ“น And what about all the teams involved, apologizing left and right... seems kinda rehearsed to me ๐Ÿ˜’. Plus, the FAW launching its own investigation on top of the police one? That's just too many cooks in the kitchen ๐Ÿด. I'm not saying anyone did anything wrong or that there's a huge conspiracy, but I do think we should be looking for more than just a simple case of hooligans getting rowdy ๐Ÿ˜. The victim might've gotten hurt, but what about the players who got let off with a slap on the wrist? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Doesn't add up to me... ๐Ÿ‘€

OMG, can't believe what's been goin' down on that pitch ๐Ÿคฏ! Like, assault charges and all... I feel so bad for the victim, poor dude ๐Ÿค•. The footage is still shakin' me, elbow to the face? That's just brutal ๐Ÿ˜ท. And now both teams are apologizin' and tryin' to move forward... but it's not that easy, right? I mean, what was goin' on in that guy's head to make him do somethin' so savage? ๐Ÿค” The FAW investigation is a good start, but I'm sure there's more to the story. It's just one of those moments where you're like... "what happened?" and it's hard to wrap your head around ๐Ÿคฏ.

just watched that news and i'm thinking... layout matters in crime scenes too ๐Ÿค”. can you imagine if they just threw all that info on the page like a messy blog post? it's like, police are investigating assault but also sharing footage of the game and stuff... wouldn't it be better to have clear headings and separate sections? like, "police investigation" vs "football match details"? just saying ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ˜• this whole thing just feels so unnecessary... like we're more worried about punishing someone than actually addressing the root of the problem - sportsmanship and accountability? I mean, what's next? Are we gonna have to ban football altogether because some guy got a little too enthusiastic on the pitch?

And can we talk about how ridiculous it is that both teams are apologizing without even being guilty? It's like they're trying to save face instead of taking responsibility. And what about the fan who filmed the whole thing? They must've seen something, right? Shouldn't they be getting some kind of credit for coming forward?

I'm all for holding people accountable, but let's not forget that football is supposed to be a game. It's supposed to be fun! Not a battleground where we duke it out with our elbows and fists. Let's focus on finding solutions that actually address the problem, instead of just tossing someone in the slammer ๐Ÿšซ
