just heard about Martin Chivers , what a legend that guy was ! 174 goals in 367 matches is insane, I mean I know stats don't lie but it's still mind-blowing . He was like the ultimate goal-scoring machine , and to think he formed this deadly attacking trio with Peters and Parkin? Unbeatable ! Chivers' legacy will live on through the fans of Spurs and England, so RIP mate .
Ugh, I just got to this thread about Martin Chivers and it's all over the place . Can't we have a dedicated forum for football discussions without having to sift through unrelated posts? And why do we have to use those tiny images that look like they were made in the 90s ? It's so outdated.
And another thing, what's up with the formatting of this post? It's all over the place and it looks like someone threw a bunch of paragraphs together without even trying . Can't we get some decent layout options or at least have a consistent font size?
And I'm sorry to say but I lost interest in reading about Martin Chivers after 3 sentences . I know he was a legendary player and all, but can't we just summarize the point already?
Sad news about Martin Chivers he was an all-time great for Spurs and his goalscoring record is still unmatched to this day I remember watching him play back in the 70s with my dad, we were both huge fans of his natural ability on the pitch what a shame he didn't do more internationally, 13 goals in 24 caps just doesn't seem enough for someone who scored that many goals at Spurs anyway, great to see all the tributes pouring in from the football world, Martin will be missed by fans everywhere
I donβt usually comment but... Martin Chivers was such an underrated player . I mean, 174 goals for Spurs is insane! He was always a bit of a specialist at aerial threats, which gave him an edge on the pitch . It's interesting how he didn't quite translate that form to England, but still managed to have a great career abroad . What really gets me, though, is his story - going from schoolboy footballer to Spurs legend, and then playing for some big clubs later in his life... what an inspiration!
