Merseyside police detective sacked for misconduct after paying boy, 17, for sex

can't believe what I'm reading about this DC Rigby bloke... thinks he can just pay a teenager for sex and get away with it? I mean, I know he's not above the law anymore, but come on! The fact that he knew the kid's age and was aware of the implications and still did it is just wrong. He's basically a creep and I'm glad he's been kicked out of the force.

And to make matters worse, he's also guilty of unauthorized access to the police computer system... like what's next? Breaking into people's phones or something? It's not like he was trying to solve a crime or anything, just looking for info on random dudes... it's just lazy and unprofessional.

The College of Policing has got its priorities right in this one - they're sending a clear message that this kind of behavior won't be tolerated. The vast majority of police officers are good people who serve their communities with integrity and professionalism, so we can all take pride in knowing that most of them will do the right thing.

anyway... just another reason why we need to keep a close eye on our law enforcement agencies and make sure they're held accountable for their actions

can't believe what just happened in Merseyside Police 😱 this is a total betrayal of trust and completely unacceptable behavior from DC John Rigby. as a police officer, you're supposed to uphold the law and protect kids not exploit them 🤕 17 years old shouldn't have to deal with that kinda thing it's devastating for his life too. gotta wonder how he thought he could get away with this...i mean, i'm all for second chances but not in cases like this 👎

🤕 This incident has brought to light a disturbing trend of law enforcement officers compromising their integrity and trustworthiness. DC John Rigby's actions are a prime example of how one's position of power can be misused for personal gratification. The fact that he paid a minor for sex multiple times highlights the stark contrast between his professional conduct and private behavior, which is unacceptable.

The severity of this breach is amplified by Rigby's knowledge of the implications of his actions and his position as a role model in law enforcement. His dismissal without notice sends a strong message that such misconduct will not be tolerated, but it also raises questions about the effectiveness of internal investigations and disciplinary measures.

Furthermore, the unauthorized access to the force's computer system further underscores Rigby's lack of accountability and his willingness to disregard professional boundaries. The fact that he was found guilty of gross misconduct is a relief, but it highlights the need for more robust safeguards to prevent similar incidents in the future. 🚔

Ugh, just saw that a Merseyside Police detective got kicked off the force for payin' some 17-yr-old kid for sex 🤢😷 Can't believe this guy was even employed in the first place, let alone a law enforcement officer... I mean, what's next? Payin' minors to do your homework? 📚💸 The fact that he knew the kid's age and still did it is just sickening... like, how low can you go? 😡 And to think, this dude was in charge of keepin' people safe... yikes!
