Michigan lawsuit over COVID risks for disaster cleanup workers ends in settlement - Detroit Metro Times

Ugh, can you believe these guys were treated like dirt? I mean, they're literally risking their lives to help people out after disasters, and what do they get? Cramped hotel rooms, no social distancing... it's just crazy 🤯. And to make matters worse, companies are only now getting in trouble for not prioritizing worker safety? It's like they thought these guys were invincible or something 💔. I'm glad the workers are finally getting some justice, though - it's about time someone stood up for them and made sure their voices are heard 🗣️.

Ugh, what's wrong with these big companies, right? 🤯 They just don't care about their employees' safety... I mean, come on, 4 people sharing a hotel room bed? That's just gross! 😷 And no social distancing during briefings? How are they even supposed to know if someone has COVID or not? 🚭

And the fact that these workers were basically treated like disposable labor, with no training or equipment provided... it's just disgusting. I mean, I get that companies need to hire people fast in a disaster situation, but that doesn't excuse neglecting their safety protocols.

I'm glad this lawsuit finally got resolved and some changes are gonna happen. Industry-wide reforms? That's the kind of thing that should've been happening from the start. 🙄 But still, it's about time someone stood up for these workers... they deserve so much better than to be treated like this. 💯

I'm so relieved to hear about this settlement 🙌. These guys did some crazy stuff during pandemic cleanup, sharing hotel rooms like that's normal? 😷 It's just not right. I feel bad for them having to go through all that. The companies involved are gonna have to make sure they're providing better training and equipment from now on. And it's good that the government isn't doing anything about it yet 👍.

I'm also kinda surprised that there wasn't more action taken sooner. Like, how many people got sick before this happened? 🤕 It's just one of those things where you think "oh, someone will step up and do something" but then nothing happens. Hopefully now though we'll see some real change. Industry-wide reforms are a good start, let's hope they stick to it 💪

omg can you believe how they were treated 🤯? these people are literally putting their lives on the line to help others and what do they get? cramped hotel rooms, no social distancing, and no proper training or equipment. it's so messed up that companies are only now getting in trouble for not prioritizing worker safety 💸. this settlement is a huge step forward, but i'm still shook by how many people were affected 🤕. maybe we can learn from this to make disaster response safer and more efficient for future workers 🙏
