NYC has record number of heat complaints as frigid temps drag on: ‘It’s very stressful’

😓 Ugh it's just so sad... like I know we can't control the weather but still... 80k heat complaints is crazy. And those poor ppl living without heat or hot water for weeks? No thanks. 🥶 I'm just worried about all these vulnerable people, especially seniors & homeless folks who are already struggling to make ends meet. The city's gotta step up its game here. Like, I get it, coordination between agencies is hard, but can't they just find a way to prioritize this stuff? NYCHA's Amsterdam Addition sounds like a nightmare... 40s and 50s temps? That's just heartbreaking. We need to take care of our neighbors, especially the ones who need it most. 💕

This city is literally freezing out its own people 🤕 I mean, I know we're used to the cold and all, but 80k heat complaints? That's crazy! It feels like the city is failing its low-income families who need help the most. And to make matters worse, these issues have been going on for months already... it's just not right. We should be ashamed of this 🙅‍♂️ The fact that landlords are saying it's hard to fix because they need coordination between all these agencies? That's just a bunch of excuses 🤦‍♂️ We need action, not words!

Ugh, can't believe what's happening here 😓 The cold snap is taking a toll on so many people, especially low-income families who are already struggling to make ends meet 🤕. I mean, 17 people have passed away in the past two weeks due to hypothermia... it's just heartbreaking 😔. And to think that some of these residents have been without heat or hot water for weeks, it's like they're being left to freeze out there ❄️. What's even more frustrating is that it seems like a lot of this can be fixed if people would just work together 🤝. We need to get our agencies and services coordinated so that everyone can stay safe and warm 🔥.
