Three Teen Suspects Sought After Fatal Shooting at Chipotle Near Temple University

Police are on the hunt for three teenage males who allegedly tied to a fatal shooting that left 16-year-old Khyon Smith-Tate dead at a Chipotle restaurant near Temple University. The incident occurred during dinner rush on Monday night, when Smith-Tate entered the bathroom where he was shot.

According to investigators, surveillance footage shows Smith-Tate entering the bathroom with another person before being shot. One shell casing was found in the bathroom, and police have been reviewing security footage from nearby cameras.

Police are seeking three suspects, all 16- or 17-years-old, each described as wearing distinctive clothing items. The first suspect has dreadlocks and wore a black coat, pink hooded sweatshirt, and black pants at the time of the shooting. The second suspect was also wearing a black coat and carrying a black backpack. The third suspect had dreadlocks and wore a black coat with a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored pants.

Temple University's leadership released a statement condemning the violence and expressing support for the victim's family. "The loss of life to gun violence is a profound tragedy and there are no words that can make sense of it," President John Fry said.

The Chipotle restaurant, located at 1100 Montgomery Avenue, has been temporarily closed as police continue their investigation. Employees were provided with counseling services by the company, which stated it is cooperating fully with authorities.

As the spring semester begins, Temple University's campus and surrounding community remain in shock following this devastating incident.

omg what a crazy night at that Chipotle ๐Ÿคฏ! i cant even imagine walking into the bathroom and having your life cut short like that ๐Ÿ˜ฑ 16 is way too young for all this drama. i hope those suspects get caught ASAP and justice is served ๐Ÿ’ช but in the meantime, my heart goes out to Khyon's family and friends - may he rest in peace ๐Ÿ™ its just so sad that a whole university has to deal with this kinda trauma at the start of spring semester ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿค• this is so sad... 16-year-old Khyon Smith-Tate's life was cut short in such a senseless way ๐Ÿค–. I feel bad for his family and friends who must be going through a tough time right now ๐Ÿ˜”. I'm worried about the other students at Temple University too, especially with the spring semester starting soon ๐Ÿ“š. It's just crazy to think that some teenagers are carrying around guns and putting lives in danger ๐Ÿ’ฅ. I hope the police can catch these suspects soon and bring some closure to Khyon's loved ones ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

๐Ÿค” This senseless shooting at a Chipotle near Temple University just highlights how gun violence is still a major issue in our country. I mean, 16-year-old Khyon Smith-Tate lost his life over something that can be prevented with stricter gun laws ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. And let's not forget, the fact that these three suspects are all minors means we're basically setting a bad precedent for future generations ๐Ÿ‘ถ.

I think it's interesting that Temple University's leadership is condemning this violence and expressing support for the victim's family, but we need to go beyond just words. We need real policy changes to address the root causes of gun violence ๐Ÿ“Š. I'm not saying we should take away everyone's guns, but perhaps implementing universal background checks or red flag laws could make a difference ๐Ÿค.

It's also worrying that the police are still reviewing security footage from nearby cameras, which means this incident was likely preventable if they had been more proactive ๐Ÿ’ก. As a nation, we need to come together and demand more from our leaders when it comes to keeping us safe ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ. This is not just about one individual or community, but about the collective well-being of our society ๐ŸŒŽ.

OMG u gotta feel for Khyon Smith-Tate's family ๐Ÿค•. A 16-yr-old life cut short like that is just heartbreaking. I'm all about justice, so it's messed up they're still on the loose. Three teens with distinctive style? sounds like a scene from "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" lol, but no, this ain't comedy. Gun violence is a real issue in our country and we need to take action ๐Ÿšซ. Temple University is doing the right thing by supporting Khyon's family & cooperating with police. Fingers crossed they catch these three suspects ASAP ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ

can't believe some teens are so outta control ๐Ÿ˜ก, like, what's the point of even having a gun if you just gonna use it to hurt someone over a stupid argument or something? and chipotle near temple uni is literally right next to the student union building, gotta wonder how this didn't happen sooner ๐Ÿค”, and why are these cops still looking for 3 suspects when there's already a clear case against them ๐Ÿ‘€, i mean, come on, it's not like they're hiding or anything ๐Ÿ™„, just get 'em already so the victim's family can finally start healing ๐Ÿ’”

Man, this Chipotle shooting is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿค•... I mean, 16-year-old Khyon Smith-Tate was already dealing with stuff, and then he gets shot at a place where you're supposed to feel safe? It's like, what's going on in our world right now? ๐Ÿคฏ

I'm all for holding those three suspects accountable, but let's also talk about the fact that we have a systemic issue here... gun violence is just so prevalent and it's affecting kids like Khyon. We need to figure out ways to keep these teens safe, whether it's through community programs or just more resources for our schools.

I'm glad Temple University is being supportive of Khyon's family and the community, but we also need some real policy changes to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again. It's not just about one incident; it's about creating a culture where we prioritize safety and care for each other.

OMG, this is so senseless ๐Ÿ˜ฑ... I mean, a 16-year-old kid just lost his life over a shooting at a restaurant where you'd expect to be safe, right? ๐Ÿคฏ It's like, what are we even doing as a society?! ๐Ÿ™„ The fact that these three teens are still out there, running free, is just crazy ๐Ÿšจ. I mean, can't we catch them already?! ๐Ÿ˜ก Temple University needs to do more than just condemn the violence and express support for the victim's family... they need to take action ๐Ÿ’ช like increasing security measures around campus or something ๐Ÿค”. And Chipotle, come on man! You're not doing enough to help these employees who are traumatized by this event ๐Ÿ˜ข. Maybe offer some better counseling services or something? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
