Polls close in first phase of Myanmar elections widely condemned as a sham

omg u kno how rigged these elections r 🀯 its like the mil junta wants 2 legitimize their power & crush any opposition πŸ’”. most candadts r affiliated w/ the mil, its like theyre not even tryin πŸ˜‚. ppl r too scared 2 speak out, afraid of police crackdowns 🚫. turnout in yangon is low, like, wot's da point? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. this whole thing feels like a joke 🎭, UN says its happening in an environment of violence & repression 🚫. cant beleev half the popo needs 2 live below poverty line, dis humanitarian crisis is REAL πŸ’”.

I cant believe what's happening in Myanmar 🀯. These elections are literally a joke, right? Like, the military is basically printing their own tickets to stay in power, and nobody can even challenge them. Its like they're saying "oh yeah, we're holding free and fair elections, but only if you vote for us". Newsflash: its not working πŸ˜‚. And what about all those people who are scared to even leave their homes? Or the ones whose lives are literally being controlled by fear of being drafted into the military or having their businesses shut down? πŸ€• This is not democracy, folks. Its a total farce and we need to call it out for what it is πŸ‘Š

πŸ€• this whole thing is just so messed up the UN is basically saying its like they're playing out some kind of messed up drama on stage where no one can actually leave the theater its crazy how much control the military has over who gets to vote and who doesn't and that 2 people are literally living below the poverty line because of this economic disaster πŸ“‰πŸ’Έ

the whole thing is just so messed up 🀯 - i mean, myanmar was supposed to be all about democratic reform after aung san suu kyi's party came in power but now it's like the military took back control and it's just this huge farce πŸ“¦. they're trying to legitimize their rule by staging these elections but honestly it feels like they're just going through the motions - no real choice for the people, lots of restrictions on everything, even just expressing yourself is a risk πŸ’”. i'm really worried about the state of human rights in myanmar right now πŸ€• - all this violence and repression can't be allowed to continue without consequences

🚫 this whole thing feels so rigged from the start 🀬 anyone who thinks a few token candidates being chosen will magically legitimize the mil junta's brutal regime is sadly mistaken 😴 we need real change not some watered down version of democracy that only benefits those in power πŸ’Έ and what really gets me is the international community just sitting back and letting this happen πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ where's the accountability? πŸ€” where's the support for the people on the ground who are suffering 🌎

This whole thing is super suspicious... like, who is actually getting to vote here? Most candidates are puppets of the USDP, which is basically a proxy for the military. And with Aung San Suu Kyi's party banned and her own detainment, it feels like the whole system is rigged from the start πŸ€”

And what's up with the low turnout in Yangon? Are people really too scared to make their voices heard because of police crackdowns? It just sounds like the military is doing everything they can to suppress dissent.

The fact that there's little choice on the ballot paper and most candidates are seen as military allies just confirms my suspicions. This whole thing feels like a farce designed to legitimize the junta's rule, rather than a genuine attempt at democracy 🚫
