Red Wings Celebrate Centennial Season with Immersive Exhibition at Detroit Historical Museum

The Detroit Red Wings are marking a century of hockey history, and to commemorate the milestone, the team's storied past is being showcased in an engaging multi-media exhibition titled "Detroit Red Wings at 100: Becoming Hockeytown." Set to open at the Detroit Historical Museum on November 20, this massive exhibit takes fans on a journey through three galleries, featuring rarely seen artifacts, vintage uniforms of legendary players, and iconic audio and video clips from the team's greatest moments.

Beyond the Red Wings, the exhibition also delves into the history of other professional hockey teams in Detroit, including the Falcons and Cougars. This comprehensive look at Motor City hockey offers a unique perspective on the city's rich sports heritage.

"I'm honored to see a century of Red Wings history brought to life at the Detroit Historical Museum," said Asia Gholston, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing. "This exhibit celebrates the passion, pride, and legacy that have defined 100 years of Red Wings hockey."

Fans can experience this milestone in person by visiting the Detroit Historical Museum, located at 5401 Woodward Ave., Detroit. For more information, head to detroithistorical.org.

The exhibition marks an exciting moment for Red Wings fans as they celebrate a century of triumph and dedication to the sport. With "Detroit Red Wings at 100: Becoming Hockeytown," the Detroit Historical Museum provides a fitting tribute to the Motor City's beloved hockey tradition.

omg this is gonna be lit! 🤩 i mean, can you even imagine walking into an exhibit that's like stepping into a time machine? all those old jerseys and equipment on display? it's gonna be so cool to see the history of the red wings come alive 😎 they should also have some interactive stuff where fans can test their hockey skills or something lol. and i love how its not just about the red wings but also the other teams in detroit that are part of the city's sports heritage 🤝

I mean, this is gonna be lit 🤩! A centennial exhibition for the Red Wings? That's some serious dedication from the team and the museum. But, let me just say, they're really getting into the nitty-gritty of Detroit's hockey history. I love that they included other teams like the Falcons and Cougars in the exhibit - it's not all about the Red Wings, you know! 🤓

Now, I'm curious to see what kinda artifacts they've got on display. Vintage uniforms, iconic audio clips... this is gonna be a real treat for hockey fans. And Asia Gholston seems like a cool cat, even if she does say "I'm honored" - that's just a little too formal, don't you think? 😊

omg, can u believe the red wings are turning 100?! that's such an iconic milestone 🙌 i'm definitely planning on checking out this exhibit @ the detroit historical museum, it sounds so cool! i've always been a huge hockey fan, and to see all the history of the team come together like that must be amazing 😍 i wonder if they'll have any interactive parts or anything that fans can participate in? and what's with the other teams in detroit being included in this exhibit? seems like it'd be really interesting to learn more about their histories too 🤔

meh, all this fuss over a centennial season is just a bunch of hype 🙄. what's the point of an exhibition that just shows old jerseys and some boring history vids? can't they come up with something more interactive or innovative for once? i mean, it's not like we're going to forget about the Red Wings after this expo is over. plus, why focus on hockey when there are so many other important issues in Detroit that need attention 🤔. and what's up with the name "Becoming Hockeytown"? sounds like a bunch of marketing fluff to me 😒

I'm low-key hyped about this new exhibit 🤩! I mean, who doesn't love a good sports history lesson, right? It's amazing that they're showcasing all those iconic Red Wings jerseys and whatnot from over the years. And did you know Detroit used to have another hockey team called the Falcons? That's some wild stuff. The fact that it's being held at the Detroit Historical Museum is the icing on the cake – it's like a dream come true for any sports fan visiting the city. I'm def gonna try and check this out ASAP 🎟️
