A Chicago ride-hailing driver and his passenger were left reeling Monday night after a hazardous encounter with a mysterious package. The duo had just picked up the unknown container from an address on West Palmer Street in Logan Square, when they began feeling unwell.
Their 911 call at 9:55 p.m. sent officers scrambling to their location in the 2200 block of North Monticello Avenue. Fire department hazmat teams arrived quickly and carefully extracted the offending package from the vehicle. However, officials refused to disclose any details about the substance that had made the driver and passenger ill.
The pair was rushed to Humboldt Park Health hospital for treatment, where they were listed in fair condition by police. Area 5 detectives are now leading the investigation into what led up to this unsettling incident.

I'm glad the driver and passenger are okay, but seriously how did they get exposed to that stuff? And what if it had spread to other cars or people walking around?! That's like a total nightmare scenario 
. Can you imagine being on that ride and just feeling like something's off? The whole thing is so frustrating because we want answers, but the authorities aren't saying anything...not cool

They just leave packages lying around on the street, and who knows what kind of toxic crap is inside? It's like they're playing a sick game of Russian roulette with their fellow citizens. I'm all for convenience and tech advancements, but come on! We need to be more responsible and considerate of others.

and idk about the investigation but i think we need more transparency about these kinds of incidents
