my heart is breaking thinking about akula's story... wars are so brutal and traumatic, not just physically but mentally too six months into the invasion and he's still struggling with nightmares & flashbacks... it's a reminder that soldiers aren't invincible they're human beings who go through the same emotions we do, but instead of being able to talk about it, they get sent back to fight... or worse we need more support for these brave souls and their families
I'm truly heartbroken reading about Akula's story . It's heartbreaking to think about a 19-year-old soldier having to go through all that trauma and still being able to find the strength to speak out . The fact that he's struggling to reconnect with his own life is just devastating . We need to be more supportive of our troops, not just when they're fighting for their country but also when they're trying to deal with the emotional fallout of war . It's time we start talking about mental health in a more open and honest way so that others like Akula don't have to suffer in silence .
Ugh, how does one even survive this? I mean, I knew it was gonna be bad, but 6 months is a long time... Poor guy's been through hell and back. It's like, we're all just sitting here thinking our problems are bad, but for him, it's daily life or death. And the worst part is, no one even cares until he's ready to spill his guts on CNN . I mean, what's the point of even having a support system if you're not gonna show up when it matters? It's all just so... bleak
