Sean Grayson murder trial: Former Illinois deputy guilty of murder

man this whole thing feels so messed up 🤕 grayson was initially denying all charges and blaming massey's actions for what happened but it all came down to him letting his emotions get the best of him... like he really thought "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus" was a threat lol 😂 and now he's gonna have to live with that for the rest of his life 🤯 four to 20 years is a pretty big range, hopefully he gets something reasonable.

🤷‍♂️ [Meme of a shrugging emoji with a thought bubble saying "Maybe he just really liked the name Sonya?"]

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing 🤯. Like, I get it, someone called 911 and reported a possible intruder, but you're gonna shoot her? It's just so... violent 💔. The defence saying she was being aggressive and he thought his life was in danger is kinda suspicious, don't you think? 😒

I mean, the bodycam footage clearly shows her trying to calm him down, but the defence just brushed it off. And what's up with the "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus" thing? Was she really threatening him that badly? 🤷‍♀️ I don't know about all this religious stuff, but it seems like just an excuse to me.

Anyway, 4-20 years is a pretty harsh sentence for what amounts to a misunderstanding 💸. You'd think they could've found a way to de-escalate the situation without resorting to violence 🤦‍♂️.

this whole thing is just wild 🤯 I mean, can you believe that Sonya Massey was like "I'm sorry" as she was being shot and no one thought twice about it? it's crazy how easily Grayson's emotions got the best of him and led to her death. and now he's gonna be locked up for a looong time 🚔💥 the prosecution is right, he let his emotions dictate the outcome of the case and that's not cool at all. and I feel bad for Massey's family who have to go through this pain and trauma. it's just another example of how police officers need better training on de-escalating situations 🤦‍♀️💡
