'SNL': Watch Geese Perform 'Au Pays du Cocaine,' 'Trinidad'

Geese Bring Haunting Elegance to SNL Stage with 'Au Pays du Cocaine' and 'Trinidad'

The Brooklyn-based indie rock band Geese made their highly anticipated debut on Saturday Night Live (SNL) last weekend, showcasing two tracks from their latest album, Getting Killed. The foursome, joined by touring keyboardist Sam Revaz, kicked off the performance with "Au Pays du Cocaine," a hauntingly beautiful song that has been gaining traction since its release in September.

The 11-track album, which marks Geese's second outing after 2021's Projector and 3D Country, was a labor of love for the band. Frontman Cameron Winter, 23, revealed to Rolling Stone last August that he remained unhappy until the very end of the production process, citing it as a "waking nightmare." Guitarist Emily Green echoed this sentiment, describing the album's creation as a "brute-force effort" that ultimately led to its masterful finish.

Geese's live performance on SNL showcased their captivating stage presence and polished sound. The band's follow-up song was opening track "Trinidad," which demonstrated the group's ability to craft infectious melodies with eerie undertones.

The Brooklyn-based indie rock quartet has been gaining momentum over the past decade, with a devoted fan base that has followed them on tour worldwide. Following their recent SNL appearance, Geese will continue their residency in the US, including a performance at Coachella, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo.

Geese totally brought that haunting elegance to SNL's stage ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ I'm not surprised though, their music is like, super moody and atmospheric, you know? Like the kind of stuff that makes you wanna put on a black sweater and drink coffee while listening to it ๐Ÿต๐Ÿ’”. The way they performed "Au Pays du Cocaine" was so hypnotic, it's like they were weaving this spell over the audience ๐Ÿ”ฎ. And "Trinidad"? Forget about it, that song is like a dark wave of genius ๐ŸŒŠ. I'm all for Geese getting their moment in the spotlight โ€“ their music deserves to be seen by more people! ๐Ÿ’ซ

"Au Pays du Cocaine" gave me chills ๐ŸŒง๏ธ like who else can make you both want to cry and dance at the same time? And that lead singer's age 23 already sounds soooo burnt out ๐Ÿ˜ด gotta wonder what other dark magic is behind those dreamy indie rock vibes ๐ŸŽธ

I mean, I love indie rock bands, but have you guys noticed how sketchy it is to see artists just debut on SNL out of nowhere? Like, didn't they do like 5 years worth of promotion leading up to this moment? Geese's been building momentum for ages, and then BAM! They're on the SNL stage, getting millions of new eyeballs on them. Feels kinda unfair to all the other bands that have been grinding just as hard but don't get the same spotlight. ๐Ÿค”๐ŸŽธ

idk why they got a "hauntingly beautiful" label for Au Pays du Cocaine lol it sounds more like something from a 90s goth band tbh ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ but in a weird way, i love the nostalgia. Geese's sound is super moody and atmospheric, it's like they're speaking my language ๐ŸŽถ. I'm so down for their Coachella set, have you listened to Getting Killed?
