SpaceX is pivoting to focus on a moon base before Mars

I've been thinking about this a lot ... I mean, can you blame them? Building a city on Mars sounds like a pipe dream right now . The moon's way closer and it makes more sense to establish a foothold first. Plus, those oxygen-rich materials NASA found are game-changers . It's all about prioritizing and being realistic about timelines. I've seen too many projects stalled because of overambition... it's just better to take things one step at a time and make sure you're not putting the cart before the horse .

So they're basically just gonna start with the moon instead of trying to build a whole new city on Mars? Like what's the point of starting at the moon if you can't even get the Mars thing right already I'm kinda surprised Elon is making this change, he was all about getting to Mars first . Is the moon base gonna be like a stepping stone or something? And what's with the whole oxygen-rich materials on the lunar surface thing? Like how does that even work?

idk why spacex is suddenly going to moon instead of mars... dont they have like, 1000s of dollars invested in mars already? but hey, at least its not gonna be another 20 yrs or so for that mars base... thats ages and im kinda hyped about the lunar base tho, maybe they'll find a way to make it self-sustaining... would love to see humans living on the moon for real

just thinkin... why not moon base first? like, it's closer to us, right? and they can test out all the crazy tech before heading to mars i'm not saying it's gonna be easy or anything, but come on, 10 years is pretty achievable ️ and hey, if it works out, who knows, maybe we'll get some permanent moon dwellers living their best lunar lives

Umm... I'm totally down with SpaceX focusing on the moon first, but at the same time, aren't they kinda selling out on their Mars dreams? Like, don't get me wrong, the lunar base sounds cool and all, but isn't that just a stepping stone for even bigger things? Shouldn't they be pushing the boundaries of space exploration instead of playing it safe? On the other hand, I'm also like, "yaaas, 10 years is a pretty realistic timeline" ... unless it's not. Can we trust Elon Musk to stick to his guns (or should I say, rockets?) on this one? I mean, who knows what'll happen in the future?

I'm surprised SpaceX is ditching Mars for the moon - 10 years is still kinda fast if you ask me . I mean Elon's always been one to set ambitious goals, but what's changed? Did they discover a secret lunar wormhole or something? Also, I'm curious about these oxygen-rich materials - can we really harness them as fuel?
