Take That review – could it be TV magic? Yes!

A New Chapter for Take That? The Netflix Series We Needed

The highly anticipated three-part documentary about one of the UK's most iconic boybands finally landed on our screens, bringing with it a fresh perspective on Take That's 35-year history. For fans who've been following the band since their inception, this series serves as a reminder that even after all these years, they remain an incredibly talented and enduring group.

At its core, the documentary is a straightforward retelling of the band's story, from their bewildered early performances in gay clubs to their unprecedented second coming. Alongside a plethora of new interviews with Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald - who've kept up appearances despite personal struggles and health issues, this series has become an essential viewing experience for anyone who grew up singing along to their chart-topping hits like 'Pray' and 'Back for Good'.

While it does bring some candid moments about anxiety and discomfort at the ongoing demands of success, there isn't much in the way of groundbreaking revelations. Still, director David Soutar skillfully weaves these insights with previously unseen footage, providing an immersive experience that showcases the band's raw talent.

The editing is masterful, showcasing archive clips shot before the late 90s with a distinctly dingy tone and giving way to later episodes with brighter hues as time progresses. Footage from their recent concerts sprinkled throughout the documentary brings back memories of iconic moments and outfits that defined an era in music history - even Exclamation body spray makes its appearance.

Throughout, it's evident that Take That has remained relevant for a reason: they've continued to evolve as musicians while never losing sight of their core appeal. By viewing the documentary from a vantage point of middle-age, viewers can appreciate just how difficult and occasionally magical the whole process has been.

I'm gonna say it... I don't think Take That's as overrated as everyone makes them out to be 🤔. Don't get me wrong, they've got some great songs and their documentary series is pretty good, but let's be real, most of the pop bands from back in the 90s are still just kinda... familiar 💁‍♂️. I mean, Gary Barlow's singing voice is nice, but it's not like he's breaking any new ground or anything 🎤. The documentary does show that they're still a talented group and all, but sometimes I feel like their longevity is more about nostalgia than actual artistic growth 🕰️. What do you guys think?

OMG u gotta watch dis docu on Take That 🙌!!! Its like a trip down memory lane 4 all us Brits who grew up w/ them! Gary, Mark & Howard r still killin it despite all da struggles they've faced thru d yrs. I loved how dey showed da behind-the-scenes stuff & dey even mentioned exclamation body spray lolol @ dat one! Da editing was sooo good 2 - it brought back so many memories of me dancing 2 "Pray" w/ my friends at d clubs 🎉💃

I gotta say, it's about time someone made a Netflix series out of Take That! I mean, who didn't grow up singing along to Gary Barlow's hairdo? But seriously, 35 years is a looong time to be relevant, and these guys have still got it. It's like they're saying, "We may not be as young and fit as we used to be, but we can still rock out... with some creaky joints!" The documentary looks super cool, btw - all those old footage mixed with new interviews is like a music history lesson in a box!

I'm totally loving this docu on Take That 🤩! It's so nice to see them still killing it all these years after the fact 💁‍♂️. I mean, who didn't grow up singing along to those bops like 'Pray' and 'Back for Good' 🎶? The way they're just being real about their struggles with anxiety and success is so refreshing too... it's not always easy to see the big picture when you're in the midst of it all 😊. And can we talk about how great the editing is?! It's like taking a trip down memory lane with all those retro clips 📺. I feel like this docu really shows why they've been so enduring all these years 💖.

Wow! 🤩 I'm so glad this docu series is finally here! It's amazing to see how Take That's come full circle after all these years. The way they showcase their evolution as musicians without sacrificing that iconic boyband sound is pure magic 💫. And can we talk about the fashion?! 😂 Exclamation body spray is still serving looks, btw. But what really gets me is how this docu series humanizes them in a way we've never seen before - it's like getting to know them as adults with real-life struggles and emotions 🤗. I mean, who knew Gary Barlow was so relatable? 😂

The documentary is solid! I mean, it's not gonna blow your mind or anything but it's like, a really great summary of Take That's history. Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald all seem pretty down-to-earth about their struggles with anxiety and stuff, which is cool. The editing is super nice too, they do a good job of showing how the band's style changed over time. It's like, you can feel the nostalgia for those old concerts and performances. I'm glad they got to share that experience with us! 😊

Just watched the new doc about Take That on Netflix 📺🎉! I'm loving how it brings back memories of my childhood - who didn't grow up singing along to 'Pray' and 'Back for Good'? 😂 The documentary does a great job of showcasing their talent and journey over the years, even with all the ups and downs they've faced. 🙌 Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald are still the real deal! 👊 Their music has stood the test of time, and it's awesome to see them still rocking out today 🤘. Definitely worth a watch for old-school fans like me 😎

I'm so stoked this docu is finally out! 🤩 I mean, 35 yrs of Take That history? That's insane! I was literally singing along to their songs in my room, dreaming of being a pop star like them 😂. And wow, those guys are still rocking it! Gary, Mark, and Howard seem so down-to-earth and relatable, especially when they're talking about the struggles with anxiety and stuff. It's great that they're showing their human side 🤗.

I'm loving the nostalgic vibes of the docu too - who can forget those Exclamation body sprays? 😂🎉 The way the director weaves it all together is masterful, making you feel like you're part of their journey. It's amazing how they've managed to stay relevant after all these yrs... I guess that's what happens when you create music that stands the test of time 💖.

Ugh, I mean... I guess it's kinda nice that Take That is finally getting the recognition they deserve on Netflix 📺... but let's be real, 35 years is a looong time to be still kicking around in the music scene and still making bank off their iconic hits. It just seems like they're milking their fame for all it's worth at this point 😒. Still, I can appreciate the nostalgia factor - who didn't sing along to 'Pray' back in the day? 🎤 But honestly, I'm not sure how much more of their history we really need to see...

I'm loving this docu on Take That!!! 🤩 I grew up listening to them with my siblings and still get chills whenever "Pray" comes on 😭. It's amazing to see how they've kept it together all these years, especially with the drama and personal struggles Gary has been open about 💔. The special effects in this docu are pretty cool too - I loved seeing those old archive clips all fuzzy and grainy 📺. What really struck me was how true to themselves they've remained, even as their style and sound have evolved over time 💕. As a parent, it's great to see my kids singing along to the same songs I grew up with - makes me feel like I'm not totally out of touch 😂!

I'm loving this docu on Take That 🤩! They're still so talented & relevant after all these years, it's crazy 💥. I mean, they've had their ups & downs like any band, but you can really see how much heart & soul they put into their music ❤️. Gary, Mark, and Howard are all so down-to-earth & honest about the struggles they've faced, especially with anxiety & pressure from fame 🤯. The doco's not gonna blow anyone away with super deep secrets or anything, but that's part of its charm - it's just a really well-made tribute to their history & music 🎉. I'm definitely watching it again when it comes up on Netflix 👍

I'm loving this docu on Take That! 🎉 It's like you're right there with them, reliving all those crazy times they went from tiny gay clubs to superstardom 💥. I mean, Gary, Mark, and Howard have been through so much - personal struggles, health issues, and still performing like pros 🤩. The editing is genius, taking us on a wild ride from dark and gritty early days to the bright lights of stardom ✨.

What's really interesting is seeing how they've adapted as musicians over the years. They're not just relying on their old hits; they're pushing boundaries and still killing it 🎵. And I love how the docu shows us that even though they've been in the game for 35 years, they still have a fanbase that's passionate and dedicated 💖.

For me, this series is more than just a nostalgia trip - it's about celebrating an incredible legacy of music and performances 🎉. It's like a time capsule of '90s pop culture, with all its excesses and extravagance 😂. Take That may have started in gay clubs, but they've become so much more than that - they're icons 💫.

🤩 I'm low-key obsessed with this new doc about Take That!!! 🎉 They're still killing it after all these years 💃🏻, and this series is a total must-watch for any '90s kid like me 😂. The way the director weaves together old and new footage is pure magic ✨. I mean, who didn't grow up singing along to "Pray" and "Back for Good"? 🎶 It's so cool to see Gary, Mark, and Howard still slaying the game despite their personal struggles 💕. The editing is on point too - those dingy tones in the early episodes are giving me all the nostalgic feels 😍. Exclamation body spray makes an appearance? yes, please! 💄👏

I gotta say, I'm thoroughly entertained by this Netflix docu-series about Take That 🤩! As someone who's grown up with their music, it's amazing to see how they've navigated the ups and downs of fame over the past 35 years. What really struck me is how well the documentary captures the essence of what makes them tick - that unique blend of talent, chemistry, and vulnerability.

The way the filmmakers weave together old and new footage is pure magic 🔮. It's like getting a masterclass in music history, with all the highs and lows along the way. I loved seeing those early gigs in gay clubs - it's crazy to think about how far they've come! 😂 And can we talk about Gary Barlow's anxiety struggles for a sec? It's so great that he's been open about his experiences and used them as fuel for the documentary.

One thing that really resonated with me was the band's ability to adapt and evolve over time 🔄. They never lost sight of what made them special, while still pushing the boundaries of their sound. It's a reminder that relevance isn't just about staying relevant - it's about staying true to yourself. 💖 Overall, I'd say this docu-series is a must-watch for anyone who's ever been a fan of Take That 🎉!

I'm literally sobbing watching this documentary 🤯! I mean I knew they were still talented, but to see them go through all the ups and downs in one sitting is giving me LIFE!!! I was so nervous about Gary Barlow's health issues, and Mark Owen's struggles with anxiety... it's insane how much pressure they've been under for decades! But at the same time, seeing them now, still rocking out like they're 21 again... it's truly inspiring 🤩. The way David Soutar wove everything together is pure genius 🎥. I'm not gonna lie, there were some super emotional moments - Gary Barlow being so open about his anxiety had me in tears! 💔 But seriously, this documentary is a must-watch for anyone who grew up with Take That - it's like getting a big ol' hug from the past 😊.

omg u gotta watch this doc about take that!! 🤩 it's like a blast from the past but also so insightful into what they've gone through as a band. i love how they showcase their growth & evolution over the years - they're still killin' it even after all these years! 😎 and can we talk about the editing tho? 📹 it's like u take a journey through time with them. anyway, just made me wanna sing 'pray' again lol 🎤

omg i'm so glad this doc series dropped!! it's like, we needed this for ages 🤩 take that is literally one of those bands that never gets old - their music still gives me chills to this day 🎵 even though gary, mark, and howard are getting up there in age, they're still killing the game 💁‍♂️. i mean, the way the doc weaves all these old interviews with new footage is just genius 🤯 it's like a time capsule of take that history, but also super relatable to anyone who's ever had to deal with fame and anxiety (ahem, us). anyhoo, if you're a fan like me, do yourself a favour and watch this doc ASAP 📺

I'm not sure I'm completely sold on this Take That docu-series 🤔. Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty cool to see those guys still rocking after all these years 😎. But some of this feels like just rehashing old memories, you know? Like, yeah we've seen the same interviews with Gary and Mark before 📺.

I mean, I love 'Pray' as much as the next person, but some of these songs are still stuck in my head from like, 2002 🎵. And can we talk about how convenient it is to only bring up their more recent music? Like, what happened to the other hits, like 'Relight My Fire'? 🔥

Still, I guess that's just part of getting older and people moving on from one era to another 😊. It's all still pretty nostalgic and fun in a "I'm old now" kind of way 🎉.

omg u guys 35 yrs & still killing it like take that's the ultimate comeback story 🤩🎉 but seriously, i'm so down for this docu - all the feels & nostalgia are real 😭🕺 didn't know how much i needed a documentary about these lads until now. Gary Barlow's anxiety struggles tho 👀 and mark owen's fashion sense is still on point lol 😂 also exclamation body spray? what even was that 🤣
