A 17-year-old female student suffered severe injuries after being stabbed by her classmate during school hours at Zion-Benton Township High School in Illinois.

This school stabbing incident is super scary & makes me think that we're just not doing enough to prevent these kinds of incidents from happening. Like, what's the point of having security cameras if they don't actually do anything? 
We need to take a hard look at why this happened and make some serious changes. Maybe it's time for us to rethink our approach to bullying in schools or how we handle conflicts between students... idk, maybe just being more open & honest with each other could help prevent stuff like this from happening in the first place?

i'm glad the police arrived quickly but still, 17 is way too young to go through something like this
