I don’t usually comment but... I think it’s weird how everyone’s blaming Brexit for the UK’s economic woes
. Like, can we not just acknowledge that things were already pretty messed up before the leave vote happened? The City of London being a top financial hub is no joke, and it's hard to just switch off its influence overnight
. I'm still reading about how many bankers left for Frankfurt or Paris, but what about all the other industries that got hit too? Manufacturing, tech... I don’t know, it seems like this 'productivity puzzle' is way more complicated than just Brexit

And can we talk about tax increases on the financial sector for a sec? It feels like a pretty straightforward solution to some of these problems
. Like, if you want to see productivity growth again, maybe cut some of the special treatment those banks get and raise their taxes instead? Easy peasy
