The Prem: Harlequins 7-34 Leicester: Tigers go fourth with win at The Stoop

Leicester Tigers moved into fourth place in the Premiership after a convincing 34-7 win over struggling Harlequins at The Stoop. The visitors dominated from start to finish, with scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet delivering a timely reminder to England coach Steve Borthwick as he scored a stunning solo try.

Van Poortvliet was one of the brighter lights in a dominant display, and his effort came after a neatly worked short line-out routine. He stepped off his right boot to jink inside what was left of the Quins defence before going over. His speed of delivery is good, and he's a top-notch number nine, said Leicester head coach Geoff Parling.

The Tigers pack worked hard for each other, it was very windy and conditions were quite hard but I am very pleased with what we did, Parling added. The league doesn't lie. We are obviously not at the very top and there are things we can improve on to really push on.

Leicester's win is a significant one, as they move up to fourth place in the table. They have struggled with injuries, but their players adapted well and showed great spirit. Van Poortvliet was excellent today, said Parling. He's had some injuries which have not helped him at certain times. His speed of delivery is good and he's a top-notch number nine.

Harlequins, on the other hand, are struggling to find consistency. They looked like they were lacking in confidence, particularly after Cadan Murley broke the Tigers defensive line only for Bryn Bradley to fumble the final pass with the line beckoning. Jason Gilmore, Harlequins head coach, said their fans have been brilliant but that it's not skillset, it's mindset. We went on the back foot pretty quickly and couldn't turn things around.

The Tigers ran roughshod over a Quins outfit with five tries, including those from Hamer-Webb, Steward, Blamire, and Perese. Billy Searle added the extras after a penalty. Leicester's win is a welcome boost for their season, but they must continue to work hard for each other if they want to push on.

Quins look to be lacking in confidence as much as anything and had their own chance to level at 7-7 after Murley broke the Tigers defensive line only for Bradley to fumble the final pass with the line beckoning. The home side held out while David was in the bin, but still struggled to contain Leicester's attack.

David said our fans have been brilliant. We had a sold-out Stoop today but I can understand their feelings. They are loyal to the team and club. We need to give them something to enjoy on the field. It's not skillset, it's mindset. We went on the back foot pretty quickly and couldn't turn things around.

Leicester Tigers' win is a significant one, as they move up to fourth place in the table. They have struggled with injuries, but their players adapted well and showed great spirit.

man this van poortvliet dude is like a genius on the pitch! 😲 he just ran past everyone and scored that insane try 🀩 i mean i know quins are struggling but come on that guy is on fire πŸ”₯ how does borthwick not play him more for england tho? πŸ€”

OMG, this Leicester Tigers team is on FIRE πŸ”₯πŸ‘! I mean, 34-7 is a crazy score, especially against Harlequins who are struggling to find consistency. Jack van Poortvliet is like a superhero out there πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ! His speed and delivery are insane. And I love how the Tigers pack worked together, even in tough conditions πŸ’ͺ. It's clear they've got some great spirit and teamwork going on.

I feel for Harlequins, though... it's not easy to turn things around when you're on the back foot from the start πŸ€”. Jason Gilmore is right, it's all about mindset, but I'm sure their fans will stick with them πŸ’•. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds for Leicester! ⚑️

I'm so stoked about Leicester's 34-7 smackdown on Harlequins πŸ€―πŸ‰ it was like they just clicked into gear from the get go. The way their scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet tore it up with that sick solo try was pure magic ✨ his speed of delivery is insane and he's definitely a top-notch number nine in my book.

I'm loving how Leicester's pack worked together like a well-oiled machine, they really took advantage of those windy conditions and just pounded away 🌬️. It's great to see them bouncing back from injuries and showing that spirit.

Harlequins on the other hand just looked lost πŸ€” they couldn't seem to get their mojo going and just got dominated by Leicester. Jason Gilmore saying it's a mindset thing is fair enough, but you can't deny that they just didn't put in the performance they needed to πŸ’”

anyway, I'm definitely loving Leicester's new 4th place spot πŸ“ˆ and I think this win will give them a major boost for the rest of the season.

man i'm still trying to process how much pressure harlequins are under 🀯 they've got some talented players but it feels like their lack of confidence is really affecting them on the pitch, you need to believe in your team's abilities when you're down by 10 points at least 😬 leicester on the other hand seems like a well-oiled machine right now πŸ‘ and van poortvliet is definitely one of the standout players in the premiership his speed and delivery are just so impressive 🀩

I'm loving this Leicester Tigers season so far! 🀩 Their pack working together was on point and it's awesome that Jack van Poortvliet could shine despite some injury issues. The way they dominated Harlequins at The Stoop was impressive, especially with those 5 tries. It's a big win for them moving up to 4th place in the table πŸ’ͺ. I feel bad for Quins though, they just didn't seem confident out there and it showed in their performance πŸ€•. Jason Gilmore is right, it's all about mindset, not just skillset. Hopefully, they can turn things around soon ⏩

man i'm loving this Leicester Tigers team right now! πŸ‘ they're on fire πŸš’ and it's awesome to see them dominating games like that. Jack van Poortvliet is a beast 😲 his speed of delivery is insane and he's definitely giving Steve Borthwick some food for thought. πŸ€” but seriously, the way they adapted to the tough conditions and still managed to come out on top is impressive. ⚑️ and you can tell the team is gelling really well together - that's what makes them such a formidable opponent. πŸ’ͺ

just watched this crazy rugby match πŸ‰πŸ”₯ leicester tigers totally destroyed harlequins 34-7 what a difference player van poortvliet makes for them 🀩 he's so fast and can just jink past defenders easy πŸ”΄ also gotta say quins are struggling to find their rhythm ⚑️ their fans r super loyal tho love that about them πŸ’– the key is definitely mentality now πŸ‘Š

they did really well today against harlequins. jack van poortvliet's try was insane 🀯 he's literally super fast! πŸ˜… leicester's team played like a well-oiled machine. they had that one player who scored all those tries and it just made the game easy for them πŸ’ͺ

i think what's impressive is how they adapted to the weather conditions too. it was really windy and hard to play, but they just kept going 🌬️ leicester's fans must be so happy with this win, they moved up to 4th place! πŸ‘

harlequins had some chances to level the game, but they just couldn't pull it off πŸ€” it's like their players were thinking differently on the pitch and that affected their performance. coach jason gilmore said it's a mindset thing, not skillset πŸ™

omg i'm loving leicester's form atm 🀩 they're looking so sharp and cohesive as a team! van poortvliet is literally a superstar 😍 his speed of delivery is insane and he's always making the right decisions on the pitch. harlequins, on the other hand, look lost and struggling to find their rhythm... gotta give them some credit though, they're still playing some great rugby despite the struggles πŸ™ but leicester's win was a major confidence booster for them and now they've got to keep pushing themselves to stay in 4th place πŸ’ͺ

this league is always good for some laughs, especially when teams are getting thrashed like harlequins did today 🀣 seriously though, 34-7 is a big win for leicester tigers and it's great to see them moving up the table but they still gotta keep pushing themselves to stay top

So Leicester is actually doing alright I guess... They beat Harlequins 34-7 at home and that's like a big deal or whatever... I mean, they've been struggling with injuries and stuff, but their players are adapting really well and showing some heart... Like, Jack van Poortvliet's speed is pretty cool and he scored this insane try... But, at the same time, Harlequins are just not doing it for them and it's all about confidence and mindset now... Jason Gilmore is saying that it's not just about skill, but like, being mentally tough or whatever... And, yeah, Leicester's win puts 'em up to 4th in the league table which is pretty cool I suppose... They've still got a ways to go though, but they're at least moving in the right direction...

omg i'm low-key obsessed with jack van poortvliet rn he's like a total genius on the pitch!! 😍 i mean that scrum-half try was insane! i've been watching him play for ages now and he always brings this energy to the game. anyway, leicester tigers are def on fire right now πŸš€ and they deserve that 4th spot. their pack is so strong and it's amazing to see them work together like that πŸ‘«πŸ‘

omg Leicester tigers are killing it this season 🀯! their scrum half jack van poortvliet is on fire πŸ”₯, can't believe he scored that solo try 😲. they just dominated harlequins 34-7 and it's clear why they're moving up to 4th place in the league table πŸ“ˆ. the team really showed great spirit despite playing in tough conditions πŸ€ͺ.

harlequins on the other hand are struggling to find consistency πŸ€•, looked like they were lacking in confidence especially after that missed try πŸ˜”. gotta feel for their fans who were out in full force today but didn't get much joy from it 😒. quins need to work on their mindset if they wanna turn things around πŸ’ͺ.

anyway tigers are looking good and i'm loving the updates πŸ“Š!

I gotta say, that's some crazy rugby πŸ‰! Leicester came out on top and now they're in 4th place, which is huge for them 🀩. I mean, it's not just about the win, it's about how they played as a team - their scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet was on fire πŸ”₯, and their pack worked so well together πŸ’ͺ. And you can tell Harlequins were struggling, especially with that fumble by Bryn Bradley πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

But what I love about rugby is how it's not just about individual players, it's about the team effort πŸ’•. And both teams showed great heart and spirit today - Leicester adapting to injuries and Harlequins... well, trying their best despite being on the back foot 🀞. Anyway, that's my two cents 😊!

oh man I'm so hyped for leicester tigers right now 🀩 they absolutely destroyed harlequins at The Stoop! van poortvliet is a total game changer, his try was insane ! i love how the tigers pack worked together as a unit, even with all those injuries they still managed to put on an amazing show. and geoff parling is just so proud of his team, you can tell he's been through this journey with them and it means everything to him. its not about being at the top but having spirit and heart, and leicester tigers have that in spades πŸ’ͺ

I mean, Leicester just dominated Harlequins 34-7... like, who even plays like that anymore? 🀣 The Tigers' scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet is a total wizard, his solo try was insane! Geoff Parling's gotta be so proud of him πŸ™Œ. And on the Quins side, Jason Gilmore just said it's all about mindset... easy for him to say when you get thrashed like that πŸ˜‚.

And can we talk about how hard the conditions were? Windy and stuff, but still, 5 tries from Leicester is no joke! 🀯 I feel bad for Harlequins, they looked like they were lacking confidence big time. But hey, at least their fans are still super loyal... even when things aren't going well 😊.

I'm not really sure what's better, the fact that Leicester won or the fact that they got to take on a bunch of Quins players who probably need to work on their skills πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Either way, it's always entertaining to watch these teams battle it out! πŸ’ͺ

πŸ‰πŸ’ͺ Leicester's form is looking up, but can they keep it up? They've got some key players coming back from injury, and if they stay healthy, 4th place could be a reality πŸ˜…
