The Twist Ending Of ‘Predator: Badlands,’ Explained

The latest installment in the Predator franchise, 'Predator: Badlands,' takes a bold twist by making the iconic alien hunter, Yautja, the protagonist - a first for the franchise. The film attempts to show the heart inside the merciless species of alien hunters.

In this movie, Dek, a Yautja "runt" is tasked with hunting down the most dangerous creature known to his race, the seemingly unkillable Kalisk, in order to prove himself worthy to his clan. However, his journey takes a dramatic turn when he crash-lands on the planet of Genna and finds himself surrounded by predators of all shapes and sizes.

Dek soon forms an unlikely bond with Thia, a synthetic who has been severed in half and is seeking revenge against her sister, Tessa, for separating them. As Dek navigates through the hostile environment of Genna, Thia helps him track down the Kalisk, despite her own intentions to capture it for Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

The turning point comes when Thia reveals that she has been working with Tessa all along and betrays Dek by sending a signal to her sister, revealing their location. Dek is furious but manages to outsmart the Kalisk using his newfound skills learned from Thia. The creature hesitates after smelling the scent of its own child on Dek, giving Dek an opportunity to kill it.

In the end, Dek returns home with Bud, Thia's severed legs, and a new sense of purpose, having proven himself worthy to his clan. However, the movie takes an unexpected turn when Dek's mother arrives in her spaceship, setting up potential drama for future sequels.

The ending of 'Predator: Badlands' has been well-received by critics, with many praising its bold twist on the traditional Predator franchise. The film's success could lead to a sequel, but director Dan Trachtenberg has been cautious about confirming any follow-up plans.

While there is no official word on whether or not there will be a sequel to 'Predator: Badlands,' the film has left room for exciting possibilities in its conclusion, with Dek now facing new challenges as a Yautja with mommy issues. The movie's unexpected turn of events has fans eagerly awaiting what's next for this unlikely trio of warriors.

I'm not sure about this latest Predator flick... I mean, who thought it was a good idea to make the alien hunter the protagonist? It just feels like they're trying too hard to make us feel bad for Dek and his "mommy issues". Newsflash: we don't need a bunch of emotional baggage from our space monsters 🤖😒. And what's up with this synthetic Thia character? Just another corporate pawn to further the Weyland-Yutani agenda, if you ask me 🤑. I'm still on the fence about whether or not there should be a sequel, but one thing's for sure - I don't want Dek to become a sympathetic character 😒. Can we just stick with your average, ruthless Yautja killer? 🤪

im think its cool that deks journey takes a different route from the usual predator movies 🤔. showin the heart inside the yautja is defo an interesting take, and i love how thia's character adds some complexity to the story 🤖. but at the same time, feel like the ending kinda sets up too many plot threads... like, whats up with deks mom comin out of nowhere? 😂 might need a little more setup before we can really get invested in what happens next 👀

I'm hyped about this new Predator flick! I mean, who wouldn't want to see the alien hunter as the hero? 🤣 It's like the ultimate role reversal. Dek's journey from "runt" to full-fledged predator is so inspiring... I bet his mom was totally proud of him when he came home with Bud (I'm assuming that's Thia's leg) 😂. And now we're getting mommy drama? That's gonna be a wild ride! Can you imagine Dek's clan being all like, "Mommy's got a new Yautja in the house"? 👀💥

I'm loving this new direction in the Predator franchise! They're really subverting expectations and giving us a more empathetic side to the Yautja. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Dek as the protagonist? 🤖 The way they wove together the story with Thia's character arc was genius! It's not every day you see a synthetic and a Yautja form an unlikely bond. And that twist at the end? Mind blown! 😲 I'm definitely down for a sequel now, especially with Dek's mommy issues coming into play 🤣. The possibilities are endless, and I'm excited to see where this new direction takes us next! 💥

I gotta say, I'm loving the direction they took with 'Predator: Badlands' 🤯. Having Yautja as the protagonist is a bold move and it totally works! Dek's journey from an outcast to a hero is so satisfying. The twist with Thia's betrayal was intense, but I love how Dek still manages to save the day 💪. And that ending? Mind blown! I'm rooting for more adventures with Dek and his new family 🚀. The possibility of a sequel is super exciting, especially with Dek's mommy issues adding an extra layer to the story 😂. Can't wait to see what happens next in this thrilling franchise 🔥.

So I'm still thinking about this new Predator flick and that twist is wild lol 🤯 Dek, the Yautja "runt", becoming the hero of his own story? It's like, we've seen it all before with humans, but never from their perspective... or should I say, perspective of an alien hunter 😂. And now they're exploring the emotional side of these creatures? I'm intrigued! The bond between Dek and Thia is so interesting, especially since she's got some serious issues 🤖💔.

I'm also loving how the movie sets up future drama for Dek, what with his mom showing up out of nowhere... 🚀😱. It's like, we're not done with this character yet! The ending is pretty satisfying too, I won't lie 😊. But now I'm curious about where they take this franchise next? Will it be more action-packed or more emotional? Guess we'll just have to wait and see 🤔👀
