Three Cheers for Hilton Hotel Workers Who Banned ICE β€” Until Their Corporate Bosses Stomped Them Out

πŸ’– I'm so inspired by these brave hotel workers! They stood up to ICE agents who were causing harm to their communities & didn't back down πŸ™Œ. It's amazing how a small group of activists & staff can make a big impact πŸ’ͺ. This incident shows us that even in the face of oppression, resistance & solidarity can be powerful tools for change πŸ”₯.

I'm also loving the fact that Hilton is holding its affiliate accountable for its actions πŸ‘. As consumers, we have to support businesses that stand up against human rights abuses πŸ›οΈ. It's not always easy, but it's so important πŸ’–. I'm sending a big virtual high-five to these hotel workers & activists - you're the real MVPs πŸ’•!

πŸ€• I'm not surprised this happened, I mean, what did we expect from a company like Hilton? They're just trying to save their own skin when Trump's "deportation machine" comes knocking. And now they're cutting ties with the hotel that stood up for its employees and human rights. It's all about appearances at this point. The video of the front desk staff member confirming they wouldn't serve ICE agents was bound to happen, it's like the company wanted to be seen as taking a stand, but really they just didn't want any bad press.

It's not like Hilton is going to start boycotting Trump's administration or anything. They're just going through the motions to avoid being seen as anti-American. And what about all those other hotels that might have been doing the same thing? We'll never know, because they won't be speaking out. The whole thing feels like a PR stunt to me... πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

I'm really surprised by what happened at that Hampton Inn in Lakeville, MN 🀯. It's not just about some crazy hotel staff refusing to serve ICE agents, it's also about how the entire system is designed to keep people down. Like, why would a big company like Hilton even allow this kind of thing to happen? They're always talking about supporting their employees, but I guess that only applies when they don't want to deal with drama πŸ€‘.

What really gets me is how some far-right influencers are trying to spin this as the hotel workers being heroes. Newsflash: standing up against oppression and refusing to serve people who are hurting others is pretty heroic in my book πŸ’ͺ. And it's not just about this one hotel, either - it's a bigger system that we need to challenge.

As a consumer, I want to support companies that are going to stand up for what's right, even if it means they have to deal with some backlash πŸ“ˆ. And as a citizen, I think we all need to be more aware of the kind of systems we're supporting and the impact they have on people's lives πŸ’₯. This is just one example of how we can create change, but I'm sure there are many more ways to do it too πŸ€”.

πŸ€” this is a crazy situation, imo... some ppl think its a big victory 4 workers standin up against trump's deportation machine, but theres more 2 the story. thats not how the whole thing went down... the hotel didnt exactly "refuse" to serve ice agents, they just cancelled their bookings when ice showed up. kinda like how i would cancel my plans if someone was tryna come into my house uninvited πŸšͺ
