Three free agents who make sense for the Eagles, version 1.0

The Philadelphia Eagles are bracing themselves for another round of free agency, which promises to be a wild ride. With the likes of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith expected to take up significant chunks of the roster, Howie Roseman's crew will have to get creative in order to add value without blowing their salary cap.

First off, there's Romeo Doubs, the Packers' surprise breakout star from last season. This 25-year-old wide receiver has consistently delivered, putting up impressive numbers despite sharing a deep and talented receiving corps with Green Bay. With DeVonta Smith taking over as the top dog at WR1, Doubs could find himself in the perfect setup to thrive - alongside Jalen Hurts, who can finally see downfield on his big-helmeted target.

Next up is Mekhi Becton, a tackle with all the wrong moves but also some surprising positives. After a rocky four-year stint with the Jets, the 26-year-old found himself back in Philly, where he had a career rejuvenation thanks to a Super Bowl ring. However, his lone season with the Chargers was not exactly a success story. Becton's lackluster performance - including poor run and pass blocking - is unlikely to garner much interest from top suitors, making him an intriguing target for a low-cost one-year deal.

Last but certainly not least, there's Arnold Ebiketie, the 27-year-old edge defender with raw talent that didn't quite pan out in Atlanta. As part of a young and struggling defensive corps, Ebiketie still managed to show flashes of brilliance, including six sacks over two seasons. The key now is whether he can put it all together and form the piece of the puzzle that Howie Roseman's crew has been searching for.

While all three players have their share of doubts and questions surrounding them, each fits neatly into the Eagles' typical low-cost acquisition mold - they're former high picks with a combination of athleticism and size, but also pockets of success followed by dips in production. It will be interesting to see whether this trio finds its way onto the roster as free agency unfolds.

I'm like 100% sure that the Eagles will blow their salary cap on A.J. Brown πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ and DeVonta Smith, but at the same time I think Howie Roseman has a solid plan to make it work... or maybe not? 😳 Either way, Romeo Doubs seems like a legit pickup, I mean, who wouldn't want a young receiver with impressive numbers on their rΓ©sumΓ©? πŸ€” On the other hand, Mekhi Becton's past performances have me super skeptical... did he really just get rejuvenated by a Super Bowl ring? πŸ’« Or was that just a fluke? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Arnold Ebiketie's raw talent is a big plus, but can he put it all together? βš–οΈ Only time will tell, I guess...

I'm tellin' ya, I was at this exact same situation back in 2018 when we were trying to rebuild our own team πŸˆπŸ’¨. We had some talented but rough-around-the-edges guys like Nelson Agholor and Carson Wentz who just needed that one piece of the puzzle to gel. It's crazy how different it feels now, with all these new rules on the salary cap and whatnot. I mean, can you believe some of these guys are coming off teams that were already mediocre? πŸ€” But hey, if Howie Roseman can make them fit into our system, we might just have ourselves a sleeper team 😏. And I gotta say, having DeVonta Smith on the roster is gonna be huge πŸ”₯ – he's like the ultimate upgrade over Agholor. Fingers crossed these guys pan out and don't break the bank πŸ’Έ

I gotta say πŸ€”, I'm not sold on A.J. Brown being that big of a deal. Like, don't get me wrong, he's a talented receiver and all, but $22 million per year is a lot for a team like Philly to throw around, you know? πŸ€‘ They need someone who can make plays down the field without breaking the bank. Jalen Hurts is their QB, and if they can just find that one guy who complements his game, I think it could pay off big time πŸ’Έ.

I'm not super optimistic about the Eagles' chances of signing any of these guys... I mean, they're already taking a risk on A.J. Brown, and you can't just rely on one player to carry the team πŸ€”. And have you seen Mekhi Becton's stats from last year? Not exactly inspiring confidence 😐. But at the same time, it's always good to give players a second chance, especially if they've shown flashes of brilliance in the past... and who knows, maybe Arnold Ebiketie will finally put it all together 🀞. I just hope Howie Roseman's crew doesn't get too caught up in the hype and overpay for anyone πŸ€‘. It's gonna be a wild ride in free agency, that's for sure! πŸ˜…

I feel you, guys struggling to stay calm about the upcoming NFL season 🀯😬. One thing is for sure, though - it's gonna be a wild ride with all these talented players hitting the market! πŸ’₯ I love how the Eagles are trying to get creative and find those hidden gems like Romeo Doubs and Mekhi Becton. It's exciting to think about what they might bring to the table πŸ€”.

But honestly, sometimes you gotta take a chance on someone who's got raw talent but needs a little extra polish πŸ’ͺ. And with DeVonta Smith leading the charge at WR1, I'm curious to see how Doubs and Becton fit into that equation πŸ“ˆ. Fingers crossed for these guys, and maybe we'll see some magic happen in Philly this season! ✨

I'm so down for another Philly Eagles offseason 😎. I think signing Romeo Doubs would be an amazing move, he's got some serious upside and could thrive with Hurts throwing him deep. And on the other side of it, Mekhi Becton just seems like too much of a risk - 1-year deal might not cut it for me πŸ€”. But Arnold Ebiketie's raw talent is hard to ignore... I hope they can find that puzzle piece we've been waiting for 🀞. This could get interesting!

Free agency is like that moment when you finally find the perfect book on existentialism... but then you realize it's not just about the destination, it's about the journey too πŸ€”. These players are like chapters in a story, each one has its ups and downs, its highs and lows. You gotta wonder what makes them tick, what drives them to shine or fizzle out.

And the Eagles, they're like the readers of this book, searching for that next great chapter, that next big move. They're not just looking for talent, they're looking for that special something, that spark that sets the team on fire πŸ”₯. And in a way, I think that's what makes free agency so fascinating, it's like the unknown, the uncertainty of it all.

These players, Romeo, Mekhi, and Arnold... they're like the fragments of that puzzle, each one a piece that could fit or not. But what if they do? What if they become the ones to take the Eagles to new heights? πŸš€ The possibilities are endless, just like the number of ways we can interpret life's big questions 🀯.

can't believe we gotta sift through all that info just to find out who's gonna get signed 🀯. I mean, i get it, eagles fans need to stay informed but come on, can't they just break it down a bit more? and what's up with these 'low-cost one-year deals'?? it feels like we're always chasing the same old signings just to fill a hole πŸ€‘. and don't even get me started on how long it takes to get an update around here 😩. can't they just make it easier for us to keep track of all the moves?

Umm yeah so I was just thinking about my cat's birthday party last week πŸŽ‚... we had a mini doggy playdate too and it was chaos 😹... anyway, have you guys ever noticed how avocado toast became a thing and now every single brunch spot has it on the menu? like what even is up with that? πŸ€” and btw I just got the cutest pair of fuzzy socks from Japan and they're literally changing my life πŸ‘£πŸ’•

Free agency is always crazy for the Eagles 🀯🏈 I think they should go for Doubs, he's been quietly good last season and could be a great target for Jalen Hurts. Mekhi Becton's a weird case, was so bad with the Jets but did turn it around in Philly...not sure if that's just ring magic or what πŸ˜‚. Ebiketie's got talent, but consistency is key. I'm not sold on any of these guys being game-changers, but they're all solid fits for the Eagles' style of roster-building. Maybe they'll surprise us and get one (or two) of them to break out 🀞

idk why ppl think A.J Brown is gonna take up a lot of cap space lol he's still got some work to do on his game πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. and i'm not sold on Mekhi Becton either, jets didnt exactly have the best coaching staff so it's hard 2 judge him outside of philly. but arnold ebiketie is a nice pickup if he can put together another year of decent production πŸ’‘

omg can u believe what's going on in philly?? they gotta find a way 2 make these players work cuz a j brown & devonta smith r gonna take up alot of space on dat roster 🀯😲 and btw what's up w/ becton? he had that one good year w/ the eagles but then went back 2 the chargers & tanked πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘Ž

The Eagles are gonna have to get sneaky with their moves if they wanna sign any of these players without blowing the salary cap πŸ€‘. I mean, Romeo Doubs is looking like a solid pickup, but he's gotta find his rhythm after playing behind Davante Adams last season πŸ€”. And Mekhi Becton... umm, let's just say he had some rough patches with the Jets πŸ˜…. But hey, a Super Bowl ring can do wonders for a guy's rep! πŸ’«

Arnold Ebiketie is another story altogether - that kid's got skills, but has to step up his game if he wants to stick on the roster 🀯. I'm thinking the Eagles will go with their low-cost approach and take a chance on all three of 'em. Who knows, maybe they'll find some diamonds in the rough? πŸ’Ž Only time (and Howie Roseman's magic) will tell! ⏰

I'm not sure about all these free agents they're looking at... A.J. Brown's a great receiver, no doubt, but is he worth the money? And DeVonta Smith is supposed to take over, so I don't see how Doubs fits in here πŸ€”. Plus, the Packers are gonna miss him if he leaves, right? 😏

And Mekhi Becton, man... that guy had a rough go of it with the Jets and now he's back in Philly for another shot? I'm not buying all the hype around him πŸ™„. His blocking was pretty bad last year, so how much of a threat is he gonna be on D?

Arnold Ebiketie's got raw talent, that's true, but consistency's key here... can he stay healthy and put it together? 🀞 It'll be interesting to see if the Eagles take a chance on him.

All in all, I'm just not convinced that one of these guys is gonna make it work out πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. The Eagles need someone who's gonna step up big time...

omg u guys i'm so hyped for this offseason already!!! 🀩πŸ’₯ i think doubs would be a sick fit alongside hurts, his numbers from last season were insane and he got to share the field with some amazing talent 🀯 but like roseman's gotta make it work without breaking the bank πŸ€‘ then there's becton, dude had some decent years in philly but not so much elsewhere 😐 guess we'll see if he can get back on track with a low-cost deal πŸ’Έ and ebiketie is just so exciting to watch 🌟 raw talent, 6 sacks in 2 seasons? that's a must-have for this team 🀝 can't wait to see what kind of moves roseman makes!

OMG, I'm low-key excited about these potential signings 🀩! Romeo Doubs seems like an awesome addition with DeVonta Smith on the team - it's gonna be sick to watch Hurts sling it downfield to his new favorite target 😎! And Mekhi Becton, huh? Yeah, he did have that weird season with the Chargers, but that one Super Bowl win in Philly can do wonders for a guy's reputation πŸ’ͺ. Can't say I'm sold on Ebiketie yet tho... but hey, you never know what kinda magic happens when those Eagles coaches get their hands on someone πŸ€”! Fingers crossed Howie Roseman and the gang manage to snag these guys without breaking the bank πŸ’ΈπŸ‘

"Believe you can walk on water and you're halfway there." πŸ’¦πŸˆ Those underdogs at the end of the salary cap spectrum might just become the unexpected stars for the Eagles!

πŸ€” I'm not convinced about Doubs being the perfect fit for Philly... have you seen his stats from last season? Like 30 receptions, 500 yards... yeah, that's nice, but was it all down to Hurts making those long throws? I need some more context πŸ“Š. Also, Becton's past doesn't exactly scream "rejuvenation"... what makes the Eagles think he'll be a savior on the O-line now? πŸ’”. And Ebiketie... six sacks in two seasons is cute, but how's his pass-rush IQ looking? Need some sources, fam πŸ“š
