Toxic Gym Culture Horror ‘Shredded’ From Josh Lawson and Michael Bay Launching at EFM With Protagonist, Logical Pictures and UTA (EXCLUSIVE)

"Shredded," a new horror film directed by Josh Lawson, has been launched with Platinum Dunes, Logical Pictures, and UTA. The movie follows Eileen, who after a breakup, joins an intense gym class led by a charismatic but deranged coach. When she quits, he kidnaps her and imprisons her in his sadistic training compound, forcing her to endure punishing workouts that push her physical limits to the extreme.

The film is described as offering an unflinching look at the darker side of modern fitness culture and self-obsession. It's a propulsive thrill ride that takes toxic gym culture to terrifying extremes. As Eileen tries to outwit the coach's vicious regimen, she must also confront her own vulnerabilities and find a way to turn the tables against him.

The movie boasts an impressive production team, with Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Alex Ginno producing for Platinum Dunes, alongside Jeff Golenberg from Strand Entertainment. Logical Pictures Group is co-repping international sales with Protagonist Pictures, which will also represent US rights. The film has full financing and is expected to tap into contemporary anxieties around control, self-obsession, and self-improvement.

Logical Pictures International CEO Andrei Kamarowsky expressed excitement about joining the project, stating that Platinum Dunes' track record of creating iconic horror movies made them a great fit. Protagonist's CEO Dave Bishop added that "Shredded" is a high-concept horror film that is both brutal and unapologetically intense, making it an exciting addition to their lineup.

With its timely themes and thrilling premise, "Shredded" promises to put audiences through their paces. The movie's dark take on modern fitness culture and self-obsession makes for a compelling watch, especially in today's society where these issues are increasingly relevant.

I'm intrigued by this new horror film "Shredded" 🤯 but I gotta say, the premise kinda feels like it's pushing boundaries for the sake of shock value 💥. Like, is the movie really gonna go all out on toxic gym culture or is it just a marketing gimmick? 🤔 The trailer looks intense, don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure if it's worth diving into something that might just be exploiting these issues for entertainment value 😒. On the other hand, I do appreciate the fact that they're tackling modern anxieties around control and self-improvement 📈 - maybe we'll finally see a more nuanced take on these themes in horror movies? 💡

this new horror film sounds like it could be super intense 🤯 i mean who hasn't heard of those crazy gym classes that make you wanna quit? but the fact that they take it to an extreme level is just plain scary 🤣 i'm all for a good thrill ride, especially if its about toxic culture and self-obsession. its like, we're already seeing some of this in real life with fitness influencers and their crazy workout routines... anyway cant wait to see how "shredded" plays out 😬

I'm low-key excited about this new horror film 🤯 - it sounds like a wild ride! I love how the plot combines elements of psychological thriller with body horror... it's gonna be super intense 😬. The themes of toxic fitness culture and self-obsession are so timely, too. I mean, who hasn't felt pressure to push themselves to extreme limits in the gym? It's like the movie is holding up a mirror to our society, and that's kinda uncomfortable 🤔.

The cast looks solid, with someone as talented as Josh Lawson at the helm... fingers crossed it all comes together! What I'm most looking forward to is seeing how they tackle these themes. Will it be more about Eileen's personal growth or the coach's descent into madness? Either way, I'm down for a thrilling ride 💥

OMG, have you seen the stats on the horror genre lately? 🤯 It's been on fire! Horror films have grossed over $3 billion at the box office in 2022 alone. And with "Shredded" hitting theaters, I'm expecting it to take the cake - after all, Platinum Dunes has a proven track record of churning out blockbuster hits like "Friday the 13th" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". 🤑 The movie's production team is fire too! Michael Bay at the helm? Yes, please! The film's marketing strategy could use some data to back it up though - did you know that social media influencers have a 22% higher engagement rate when promoting horror movies? 📈 Maybe they can help spread the word about "Shredded"! Anyway, I'm low-key excited for this movie and I think it'll be a huge hit. The film's themes of self-obsession and control are so relevant to today's society - here are some stats on how many people prioritize their physical health: 75% of millennials are more likely to follow a fitness routine than go to the gym just for fun (thanks, social media!). Anywayz, let me know what you guys think about "Shredded"! 🤔

omg, this sounds so intense 🤯💪 i'm definitely down to see how far this girl goes in that crazy gym... but also kinda worried about her mental state 😬 can't say much more than that, just seems like a wild ride 💥

OMG I'm so hyped for this new horror film "Shredded" 🤯👏! The idea of toxic gym culture gone wild is just too intense 😲 and I love how it's tackling some really deep themes like control and self-obsession. It sounds like a real thrill ride, especially with that deranged coach character - what a nightmare scenario 😳. And can we talk about how the cast and crew are all so seasoned in their fields? Michael Bay producing for Platinum Dunes is just 🤩. I'm definitely down to watch this one when it drops! 💪

OMG 🤯 I'm low-key hyped for this one! Shredded sounds like the ultimate thriller for anyone who's ever been to a crazy intense gym class or felt pressured into getting fit 💪. The idea of someone taking it too far and turning fitness into a sadistic game is, like, soooo terrifying 😱. I love how the movie is tackling these contemporary anxieties around control and self-obsession - it's like, we're already seeing this stuff in social media, but now it's taken to a whole new level of horror 📺. Michael Bay producing? That's just extra 🔥. Can't wait to see this one on the big screen! 💅

idk why ppl r hyped 4 dis movie... its just another generic horror flick about toxic gym culture 🤷‍♂️ the whole "unflinching look" vibe sounds like marketing speak to me... and what's up w/ the coach being deranged? thats not original at all, seen that trope in every other bad workout movie 💪 gotta say, i'm s'posed 2 be excited bout dis one but honestly cant see myself watchin it 🎥

I'm thinking we're gonna see a lot of this "fitness obsession" vibe in the next few movies... 🏋️‍♀️💪 It feels like people are super into pushing themselves to extremes these days and it's getting pretty dark. Have you seen any other movies or shows that deal with this kind of theme? Do you think we're just glorifying our own weaknesses or is there a need for more stories about self-care and mental health? 🤔

I'm not sure if this new horror film is just another example of the government's lack of regulation on the entertainment industry... I mean, what's to stop this kind of toxic behavior from happening in real life? 🤔 The fact that it's glorifying self-obsession and control in such a twisted way is really concerning. And let's not forget, Platinum Dunes has a history of producing low-quality horror movies that only serve to desensitize audiences... do we really want to be promoting this kind of content? 🎃 I think the government needs to step in here and regulate what kind of material is being released into our society. We need more balance and less exploitation, if you ask me! 💪

I'm low-key obsessed with this new horror film "Shredded" 🤯. I mean, who hasn't been to a gym that feels like a cult right? The idea of this coach being all charismatic but super psycho is so wild, and I love how it's like a commentary on our society's obsession with fitness and self-improvement 🏋️‍♀️.

I'm also hyped about the production team, because Michael Bay is always bringing that high-energy vibe to his movies 💥. And the fact that it's got a female lead character who has to fight for her freedom? That's so empowering! 💪 I'm totally gonna check this out and see how they take these themes to the extreme 😱.

OMG you guys, I'm so hyped about this new horror film "Shredded" 🤯 it's like, super intense and it's all about toxic gym culture which is literally something we should be talking about more of. The plot is so twisted and the production team behind it is fire 🔥 Michael Bay and Brad Fuller are producing for Platinum Dunes and it's gonna be a wild ride. I'm low-key excited to see how it turns out, especially since it's tackling themes that are relevant to our generation right now 🤔

🎃 Just saw the trailer for Shredded and I'm already hooked! This one looks like a real thrill ride 🚀 - it's like American Horror Story meets The Hunger Games in a dark fitness class setting 🏋️‍♀️. The production team is solid, with Platinum Dunes and Logical Pictures on board, which bodes well for an intense and suspenseful horror film. Can't wait to see how the movie tackles toxic gym culture and self-obsession - it's a timely theme that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats 😬. The trailer looks so good, I'm definitely planning to check this one out ASAP! 💖
