This whole situation just feels so wrong. I mean, these two guys are out celebrating this beautiful Chinese Lantern Festival, having a good time with friends, and then suddenly they're caught up in a senseless act of violence. It's like, what's the point of even having celebrations if we're just gonna have to worry about our safety? 
i mean we all know probation means u r walkin a thin line, if u slip up its game over. & whats w/ ppl thinkin the victims were just "celebratin" & didnt deserve 2 die? they got taken from their fams & left 4 dead 
It's so sad that a night meant to be filled with joy and celebration turned into something as devastating as it did. I mean, can you imagine walking out to dinner with your friends to celebrate the Chinese Lantern Festival and then getting caught up in some senseless violence? 
it's crazy how things can go from happy to horrific in a split second. the fact that alvin thomas was on probation for previous robbery convictions makes you wonder if he was just looking for an easy target 
but at the end of the day, we all hope that justice is served and their families get some closure 
Either way, I'm gonna be keeping an eye on this trial and see how it all plays out. The community is right to be hopeful for justice, but also skeptical of the whole thing... just sayin'. 
. I hope the justice system gets it right this time, but it's hard not to think about all the what-ifs... like what if someone had intervened sooner? What if the police had gotten there faster? It's just one of those cases that feels really unjust

on youtube yesterday and it literally made me think about how our brains can be wired to enjoy something so weirdly beautiful at the same time... like, why do we find that cat's paws tapping away at the keys so mesmerizing? meanwhile, back in chicago, this guy alvin thomas is getting tried for shooting two people just because they were out celebrating with friends... it's wild how life can take these crazy turns 
what if he hadnt showed up that night who knows what wouldve happened? the prosecution is making some pretty strong points but at the same time theres these huge discrepancies in thomas's story which makes me wonder if hes really as innocent as he claims to be
