US ambassadors reveal how they slashed UN budget: ‘They’ve never seen anything like it’

omg, like, who does the US think they're being when making these massive cuts to the UN budget? 🤯 it's not like they're doing this out of the goodness of their heart or anything... they just wanna make sure they're the only ones holding up that sinking ship. and yeah, blaming "duplication and inefficiency" for all the problems is super convenient. sounds like a typical Trump move to me - cut costs wherever you can and hope no one notices 🤑

I'm surprised they're finally taking a closer look at the UN's budget 🤔. I mean, it's been a long time coming, but someone had to do it 💸. The fact that they're focusing on streamlining ops and cutting admin positions is definitely a win for taxpayers 👏. However, I'm not sure how effective these cuts will be in addressing the real issues, like the UN's outdated pension system 📊. And let's be real, the "America First" agenda has already sparked some major controversy 🚨. Will these cuts actually lead to more global cooperation or just a stronger US hand? Only time will tell ⏰.

the us cutting the un budget by $570 million? thats crazy 💸🤯 i mean, its not like they're cutting out some unnecessary programs or something... its a 15.2% reduction from last year 📉. and the reason they gave is to eliminate duplication and inefficiency 🙄 sounds legit but at the same time its kinda suspicious given trump's whole "america first" thing 🤷‍♀️.

anyway, i guess the un has been a bit slow in terms of efficiency 💻. cutting administrative positions by 2,900? thats not bad news 😂. and downsizing the secretariat's budget by $110 million? that's no joke 🤑.

but let's be real, this is kinda like a classic case of "us first" 🤷‍♂️. i mean, critics are saying the us admin is prioritizing american interests over global cooperation... but waltz just says its about getting the un back to basics 💪. and bartos talks about reforming the pension system and stuff... yeah sure 🤑.

i think we'll have to see how this all plays out in the future 🤔. but for now, i'm just gonna say... interesting 👀

im surprised by how much cuts they made to the UN budget 🤯 $570 million is a lot! idk if i agree with waltz's view that its better for the US to handle crises alone tho 💸 what about all the other countries that would be affected by these changes? didnt think through the global implications 🌎

I'm low-key impressed with what the US did to the UN budget 🤔, but at the same time I think it's a bit too much 🤑. I mean, you gotta wonder why they're making such drastic cuts when other countries are still pulling their weight financially 💸. Is this just another example of America trying to go solo on the world stage? Because if so, I'm not sure that's gonna end well... 😬

omg i think its kinda messed up that theyre slashing funding for field missions tho 🤔 like whats gonna happen to people in need now? those 160 million dollars couldve been used to help people in places like gaza or haiti who are already struggling 😕 the fact that theyre saying its more cost-effective for the US to handle things alone is just, like, not true 🙅‍♂️ we cant just expect other countries to pick up the slack and pay for everything 🤝
