VAR: No error for Florian Wirtz goal for Liverpool at Fulham, panel says

🤕 just watched that Liverpool vs Fulham match and it's getting wild... so, Florian Wirtz scores an easy goal but VAR intervenes and gives it to him? 🤯 5 cm tolerance is a joke, can't even imagine how inconsistent this technology must be for players. I mean, if the rest of Europe doesn't use that tolerance, why do we need it here? 😩

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this VAR decision 🤯. So, basically, if you were watching the game live, you'd think Wirtz was straight offside, but apparently, that five-centimeter tolerance makes all the difference? It's weird, because it feels like they're making one set of rules for their own league and a different set for everyone else. 🤔

And can we talk about how inconsistent this is across leagues? Germany, Italy, Spain - they don't have this "thicker lines" tolerance, so if Wirtz had scored in one of those games, it would've been called out as offside. But here we are, with Liverpool getting the win because of... whatever that rule is 🤷‍♂️.

I'm not sure I buy into the idea that they're doing this to promote more goals and excitement - if you're going to make one rule for everyone else, it should be applied equally, right? 😏

🤔 imagine being on that pitch, right? so u got this wirtz guy running downfield, thinkin he's clear, but then comes that defender... and u're like "is he gonna make it?" 😅 anyway, var is like the voice of reason here, says he's good to go, and the goal gets awarded. i'm not gonna lie, semi-automated offside tech can be a bit wonky sometimes 🤷‍♂️, but at least they're tryin somethin new, right? 📈 the thing is tho, if wirtz scored that goal in germany or italy, it'd probs get disallowed 😕. so, u gotta wonder about consistency across leagues... i guess we'll just have to wait and see how the rest of the season plays out 🏆

I'm telling you, VAR is still super confusing 😂. So they've got this new tolerance for offside calls that lets players get away with being like 5cm too close to the last defender. In Germany and other leagues, it's a stricter rule, so if Wirtz scored that goal in those countries, he'd be outta there 🚫. It's just crazy how inconsistent this stuff is. And now Marco Silva is all bent out of shape about the inconsistency... like, dude, you should've seen the footage before making that claim 😂. Anyway, it's good for Wirtz and Liverpool I guess, but can we please just get some standard rules in place already? 🙄

I mean, can you believe that? VAR is all about making calls that are super tough for fans to agree on, but it's still awesome that we get to see these situations unfold 🤯! I'm loving how they're experimenting with semi-automated offside tech – it's like they're trying to find the perfect balance between human intuition and machine accuracy 🤖. It's crazy how it can affect the outcome of games, like in this case with Florian Wirtz's goal... although, on paper, it seems like he should've been called out for being offside 😂. I'm curious to see how other leagues compare their VAR standards – is the 5cm tolerance a game-changer? 🤔
