can't believe private equity firms think they can just swoop in and "value-engineer" their way to success... like, hello, do you know what makes a good video host? Not some cost-cutting spreadsheet ninja . seriously though, this is super concerning - the people who made vimeo awesome are basically gone now... what's next for the platform? will we just get more ads and less actual content? ugh
I'm really worried about this . It's like they're sucking all the life out of Vimeo, you know? First, Bending Spoons bought them for a gazillion bucks, and now they're just cutting away at everyone who actually made the platform special in the first place . The video team is basically non-existent now... I mean, what's left to maintain the site if not the people who created it? It's like they're losing their creative soul . And all this for some private equity firm's profit margins? It just doesn't sit right with me . What happens next? Will Vimeo become just another faceless corporate shell? I hope someone can turn things around, or else we'll lose something truly special .
idk man , i think this is super bad for vimeo , like what's the point of having a premium video hosting site if you're just gonna gut the team that makes it work? they need to find a way to keep the core creative team on board or else the whole thing falls apart , but at the same time... i guess $1.38 billion is some serious cash and maybe bending spoons really does know what they're doing , but still it's just so sad to see all those talented folks get laid off , i hope vimeo can find a way to come back from this
