idk why they downplay all this immigration stuff ... like we know americans are made up of people from all over the world, right? my grandma's from mexico for example ... and if we look back at history, it was pretty chill for immigrants to just come in without much trouble . it's crazy that they're saying this era of mass migration is a bad thing ... i mean, wouldn't our country be way more interesting and diverse if people from everywhere were coming here?
I'm like totally blown away by this stuff! Can you believe that the US has been all about open borders from day one? Like, almost 150 years ago we were just letting people come and go without any restrictions at all?! That's wild thinking . And now they're trying to say that it's some new thing and that border control started in the 90s? No way, man! The 1920s did see some changes, but Mendiola says it was still pretty chill compared to today. It just goes to show that our understanding of immigration history is all wrong . And can we talk about how backwards it is for the US to try and shut down mass migration when countries in Central America have been doing it with their constitutions?
I totally disagree with this new national security strategy! I mean think about it, the US has been a melting pot for centuries! My ancestors were immigrants too, and they came here seeking a better life. It's crazy that people forget all those early days when borders weren't even an issue. And now they're trying to go back to those rules? No way, José! I think we should be celebrating our diversity, not hiding from it. We need more open arms (not literally, lol) and welcoming policies, not restrictive ones.
I'm totally with Daniel Mendiola on this one . I mean think about it, the US has been all about open doors for immigrants since its founding days! It's crazy how often we hear that immigration laws were only put in place in the 1990s or something, but nope, it was actually way before that . And can you believe some people still think that countries just started getting strict about who comes in and when? Newsflash: most of our history has been about letting people come in and make a life for themselves, not locking the doors tight . It's time to set the record straight and give credit where credit is due – we've always been an open-hearted (and sometimes chaotic ) country when it comes to immigration!
