Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid fall short of fourth wheelchair masters doubles title.
British duo's campaign in Huzhou, China came to an end after a thrilling match against Spanish pair Martin de la Puente and Ruben Spaargaren. De la Puente and Spaargaren claimed their first-ever Masters doubles title with a 6-4, 1-6, 14-12 victory.
The defeat marked a second consecutive year that Hewett and Reid were runners-up in the event, having lost to de la Puente again last year with Joachim Gerard as his partner.
In other news, top seed Andy Lapthorne and Australian Heath Davidson suffered an early exit from the quad doubles finals against top seeds Guy Sasson and Niels Vink.
The stage is now set for Hewett's men's singles final showdown with Japanese favourite Tokito Oda on Sunday.
