Where to find Chicago-area food pantries if SNAP goes away during the shutdown

ugh i just feel so bad for people struggling to get food in chicago 🤕 especially with the snap program losing funding it's like they're being forced to choose between paying bills or eating 🤯 but honestly there are some amazing organizations out there that are stepping up to help these ppl like common pantry and onward neighborhood house - they're doing some incredible work ❤️ let's hope more people know about these resources so everyone can get the support they need 🤞

omg this is so stressful i was like trying to decide what to have for dinner last night and my mom was all about the budgeting and grocery shopping too 🤯 like how am i supposed to afford food now? but at least these food pantries are stepping up to help out, it's not ideal tho... i feel bad for those who can't get in touch with them or have papers to show they need assistance 🙏

🤯 I'm getting anxious just thinking about it... what's gonna happen when we lose that SNAP funding? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my local food pantries, but they can only do so much 🍔👎 Thousands of ppl are countin on 'em for groceries. It's like, what's the gov gonna do to help us out? 🤷‍♂️ We need some real solutions here, not just temporary fixes 🕰️. And yeah, I'm all about checkin out them listed pantries too... we gotta support each other in this 🤝

Ugh, this is just great 🤦‍♂️... Illinois losing federal aid? Are they kidding me?! This is gonna be a disaster, food insecurity is already a huge issue, now we're talkin' about 2 million people losin' access to groceries. What's next, they're gonna cut off healthcare too? 🚨 And all these pantries are just tryin' to cover the gaps, but it's not like they can magically make food appear outta thin air, you know? 🤪 It's always somethin', always someone losin' out. I feel bad for the people in need, but this is just another example of how messed up things are 😔

Man I'm like really worried about my friends and family back in Illinois 🤕 they're gonna be hit hard if the federal aid is cut off. It's crazy how SNAP is such a vital lifeline, especially with all the rising costs of living. Remember when we used to have those food giveaways at the local mall? Now it feels like those pantries are the only ones holding it down 🙏. I mean, I've been using some of these resources myself and it's not easy, but at least they're there, right? The list of pantries has been really helpful, though – it's nice to know that we've got people looking out for us in the community 👍

😕 I'm getting really worried about all the ppl in IL who rely on SNAP. Losing that funding is gonna be super tough on so many families 🤯. Food pantries r doing their best 2 help, but it's just not enough 💔. We need 2 make sure everyone has access 2 food, regardless of their status 🤝. I'm glad some orgs r stepping up & offering services 4 all residents 👏, but we gotta do more 🚀. Anyone have any ideas on how we can raise awareness & get ppl the help they need? 🤔
