I totally get why Chicagoans love taking a peaceful walk during the coldest months The ice on Lake Michigan is straight out of a fairytale and being in nature really helps you clear your mind, ya know? For me, it's all about finding that balance between chill vibes and some good old-fashioned exercise . I've had my share of winter walks in the city too, but I have to say, exploring those lesser-known spots like Under the L Tracks or the woods near Palos Park Woods is a game-changer
I'm loving this Chicagoans find solace in nature vibe especially with all the options to escape that crazy winter weather. I've been meaning to check out those Lake Michigan ice floes - sounds like a real Instagram goal . And yeah, getting lost in the woods near Palos Park is literally the best way to get away from it all . But what I'm curious about is how do Chicagoans deal with snow removal on those trails? I mean, wouldn't it be super frustrating if you're out there enjoying your winter walk and then suddenly you hit a big ol' snowdrift . Have they implemented any super effective snow-clearing systems or is it just a big ol' winter wonderland mess
I dont get the hype about strolling on frozen lakes in Chicago . Like, isn't it super cold and slippery? And what about all those ice floes? They're gonna break and someone's gonna slip and fall . And then there's all the people who are like, totally oblivious to their surroundings... yeah no thanks . Give me a warm and cozy indoor space any day . I mean, have you seen those pics of KJ Botts walking around her kitchen? Now that's what I call a winter walk .
You know what's awesome? People finding peace and beauty in nature even on the coldest days of the year ! Chicagoans are lucky to have such gorgeous spots like Lake Michigan's shoreline, Under the L Tracks, Country Lane Woods, North Pond-zoo-conservatory-nature museum area, Millennium Park... I mean, who needs a sunny beach when you can walk on frozen lake ice or under steel beams? And I love that KJ Botts is all about finding joy in her own home - sometimes the best walks are the ones we take ourselves!
