With strike looming, nurses press safety demands after deadly NYPD shooting at hospital

🤕 can't believe this is happening again. hospitals are supposed to be safe places but it's like they're just waiting for something to go wrong. i mean, panic buttons and metal detectors aren't that hard to implement right? but no, the admin would rather sweep it under the rug or wait for someone to get hurt before taking action. what really gets me is how some hospitals are already doing things that others haven't, like the one at nyp hospital with the panic alarm system. shouldn't we all have access to basic safety measures? 🚨

I'm thinking the police departments need to give their officers some mental health support, you know? Like, being a cop can be super stressful and traumatic at times. I feel for Michael Lynch's family & loved ones, they must've been going through an awful time. But at the same time, hospitals have a responsibility to keep their staff safe too! Implementing those panic buttons & metal detectors would make a huge difference. It's not just about the nurses striking, it's about everyone's safety & well-being. 💔🚑

I think hospitals need to step up their game when it comes to safety protocols, especially after this recent incident in Brooklyn. It's not just about panic buttons and metal detectors; it's about creating a culture where staff feel supported and protected. Nursing strike isn't the answer I'd want to see, but if they're fighting for patient & nurse safety, something needs to change ⚠️
