Action 13 gets leaking utility pole removed from Richmond man's backyard

A Richmond homeowner's backyard turned into a disaster zone when CenterPoint Energy installed a large utility pole without his permission. Ivo Quinonez was shocked to find the pole leaking and contaminating his property, spilling dark substances onto his siding, furniture, and appliances.

Quinonez initially reached out to Action 13 after realizing that he had been left with the unwanted installation. He stated that an environmental crew arrived at his home, spent the day cleaning up the mess, and a CenterPoint employee assured him that the utility pole would be removed.

The incident highlights concerns about CenterPoint Energy's maintenance practices and their impact on property owners' rights. The utility company has been criticized for its handling of such situations, leaving residents to deal with costly repairs and environmental hazards.

A follow-up action by Action 13 appears to have prompted CenterPoint Energy to take responsibility for the issue. However, the incident raises questions about the need for greater transparency and accountability from utility companies when it comes to their maintenance practices and interactions with property owners.

OMG, this is so crazy! ๐Ÿคฏ I mean, who would've thought that a big utility pole installation could turn someone's backyard into a disaster zone? ๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously, Ivo Quinonez was totally caught off guard and it's not right that he had to deal with all that mess without knowing what was going on. The fact that CenterPoint Energy didn't even get permission for the installation is just not cool.

But, you know, out of this terrible situation comes some good news ๐ŸŒž. Ivo got Action 13 involved and now it looks like CenterPoint Energy has taken responsibility for the issue? That's awesome! And to all these utility companies out there, let this be a lesson: if we want to keep being trusted by our customers (that's us!), we need to be more transparent and accountable in how we do things. No more sneaky pole installations ๐Ÿคฅ!

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Can you imagine having a pole installed in your backyard without asking permission? Like, what's next? A giant satellite dish on your roof? Ivo Quinonez's situation is like something out of a horror movie โ€“ dark substances everywhere, including his siding and furniture! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ It's not exactly the welcoming committee he was expecting when he came home. The fact that CenterPoint Energy didn't get permission for the installation raises some serious red flags about their maintenance practices... but on the bright side, they're taking responsibility now? Maybe we can just add "utility pole removal service" to their list of offered services ๐Ÿ˜‚

idk why centerpoint energy can't just ask permission before installing stuff on ppl's properties like that ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, i know they gotta do their job but it's not like they're just fixing a light bulb or something... it's like, a big ol' pole just showing up in some dude's backyard and causing a mess ๐Ÿ’€

anyway, i think this is a legit example of how utility companies can be kinda reckless ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ especially when it comes to environmental stuff. i mean, who wants dark substances dripping all over their siding and furniture? not me, that's for sure ๐Ÿ˜’

but seriously, more transparency from centerpoint energy would be awesome ๐Ÿ“ like, what's the process for installing a utility pole in someone's backyard? how long does it take to do? what kind of cleanup is involved? that kinda stuff... just seems like basic customer service, you know? ๐Ÿ‘

Omg poor dude ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ! I would've lost my mind if someone did that in front of my house ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. CenterPoint Energy should really get its act together ๐Ÿ’ช. Can't believe they left a pole just chillin' in someone's backyard ๐Ÿค”. And now the poor guy has to deal with all that environmental yuckiness ๐Ÿšฎ. I'm so glad Action 13 stepped in to help ๐Ÿ™, but it's totally unacceptable that this happened in the first place ๐Ÿ˜ก. We need more transparency from these utility companies ๐Ÿ‘€. They should be held accountable for their actions ๐Ÿ’ฏ. This incident is a total disaster ๐ŸŒช๏ธ, and someone needs to get to the bottom of it ๐Ÿ”!

I just heard about this crazy thing that happened to some guy in Richmond... like, what if he had gone to school or something and seen a pole just standing there in his backyard? He's all worried 'cause CenterPoint Energy installed it without asking and now his whole yard is covered in gross stuff. And the worst part is, they were supposed to take it out after fixing the mess, but I don't know if that ever happened ๐Ÿค”... it's like, what kind of maintenance practices are those guys running?! Shouldn't there be some kinda regulation or something?

๐Ÿคฏ I don't get why utility companies can't just ask permission before installing stuff in people's backyards, right? It seems so simple and common sense. But apparently, CenterPoint Energy didn't bother to do that with Ivo Quinonez... and now his whole backyard is a mess! ๐Ÿšฎ It's crazy that the environmental crew had to clean it up and he's still dealing with the aftermath. I mean, what if they hadn't shown up? The damage could've been so much worse. I guess this incident is gonna make people think twice about how utility companies handle things... ๐Ÿ’ก

omg i had a similar experience with my neighbor's cable provider like they just installed this huge box in front of his house without asking him first and now it's all over his lawn like totally messy and unsightly lol but then the company came and cleaned it up for free which was pretty cool i guess the thing is though why can't they just communicate properly with homeowners before doing something invasive or destructive ??

omg this is so crazy i mean what even is wrong with centerpoint energy can't they just ask people before installing a huge pole in their backyard? ๐Ÿคฏ i feel bad for ivo quinonez he's gotta deal with all that mess and now his siding and furniture are ruined like, what's next? more surprises from centerpoint energy? ๐Ÿšจ anyway i think this is a big deal and they need to be held accountable for their actions. like, how can we trust them to do the right thing if they can't even ask permission first? ๐Ÿ’”

I don't think people are giving CenterPoint Energy enough credit ๐Ÿค”. I mean, sure, they dropped a huge pole on some dude's property without permission... sounds like a major bummer ๐Ÿšฎ. But if you ask me, homeowners have to take responsibility too. Like, Quinonez should've been more proactive about reporting the issue to CenterPoint instead of just waiting for Action 13 to step in ๐Ÿ‘€.

It's not all on the utility company, folks. Property owners need to be more aware of what's going on around them and make sure they're getting regular maintenance checks. And if they do find out something weird is going on... maybe don't just sit back and wait for someone else to fix it? ๐Ÿ’ช It's a two-way street, you know?

I'm all for greater transparency from CenterPoint Energy, but let's not forget that these homeowners are also part of the problem ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. We need to hold ourselves accountable too instead of just piling all the blame on the utility company ๐Ÿ˜’.

ugh, great job CenterPoint Energy on making someone's life a total disaster ๐Ÿ˜’. i mean, who needs permission from their neighbors before installing a massive utility pole in their backyard? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ totally not invasive or anything. and yay for the environment crew that showed up to clean up the mess... except it was probably just a quick fix and not actually removing the source of the problem ๐Ÿ’ง. gotta wonder what's gonna happen next, like are they just gonna leave another "gift" on someone's property ๐Ÿค”?

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, can't you just imagine being woken up in the middle of the night to find your backyard turned into a toxic waste site? ๐Ÿ˜ท It's crazy that CenterPoint Energy would do something like that without even getting permission from someone who owns the property. And what really gets me is that they left this mess for someone else to deal with, an environmental crew, no less. ๐Ÿ’ธ Those people must've been working overtime just to clean up after a company that can't even be bothered to get its own act together. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ The fact that it took some outside media attention for them to take responsibility is pretty telling, though. Maybe this incident will prompt CenterPoint Energy to start being more transparent about their maintenance practices and how they impact property owners. ๐Ÿ’ก

OMG, this is soooo not cool! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ CenterPoint Energy needs to step up their game & make sure homeowners are aware of what's going on in their yards! I mean, who wants a utility pole just showing up at their doorstep? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ And the fact that it was leaking and contaminating Quinonez's property is just a huge red flag ๐Ÿšจ. It's time for these companies to be more transparent about their maintenance practices & make sure they're not putting people's safety & homes at risk #UtilityPoleNightmare #HomeownerRightsMatter #TransparencyIsKey ๐Ÿ’ก

omg u guys i cant even right now ๐Ÿ˜ฑ so this one richmond homeowner Ivo Quinonez gets a random pole installed in his backyard by CenterPoint Energy w/o his permission & the pole starts leaking & contaminating his whole yard lol what a mess! apparently he just called Action 13 & they came to clean it up & promised to remove the pole but i guess not lol. its like centerpoint energy is all "we dont care bout ur property" ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ and thats super shady. u gotta wonder how many ppl have gotten screwed over like this ๐Ÿค”

I'm so sick of these big corporations thinkin' they can just waltz into someone's backyard and start messin' around without askin' first ๐Ÿคฌ. I mean, what happened to the good ol' days when you could actually talk to a real person at the utility company? Nowadays it feels like they're just tryin' to push everything under the rug.

I remember my dad had this same problem with our local water company back in '97, and we had to deal with it for months. It was like they didn't care that our whole house was flooded with contaminated water ๐Ÿ’ง. But you know what? We got it fixed eventually. I'm just worried about people gettin' taken advantage of by these giant companies.

I'm all for CenterPoint Energy takin' responsibility for their mess, but we need more than just apologies. We need real changes, like better communication and accountability from these big corporations ๐Ÿ“Š. Otherwise, we'll keep seein' situations like this happen over and over again.

I mean what's up with utility companies and just leaving a huge mess in your backyard? Like, Ivo Quinonez was totally caught off guard, and his whole yard is ruined... ๐Ÿคฏ And the fact that CenterPoint Energy left him to deal with it himself is not cool. It's all about being responsible and looking out for people's rights, you know? ๐Ÿ’ก They need to be more transparent about their maintenance practices and make sure they're not just taking care of themselves but also the homeowners. Like, who wants to live in a place where they have to deal with environmental hazards because some company messed up? ๐ŸŒŽ It's time for them to step up their game! ๐Ÿ’ช
