'I'd do it all again,' says Dutch minister at heart of car chip standoff with China

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole Nexperia thing 🤯. So basically, the Dutch government stepped in because they were worried about losing control over a Chinese chipmaker, which would've made them too dependent on China for tech and stuff 😬. And now Minister Karremans is saying that it was all worth it because he's learned a valuable lesson about keeping Europe's economic security in check 🤓.

I mean, I can kinda see his point - if you're not careful, one country can just take over your supply chains and you're stuck with them 💸. But at the same time, taking on China might've been a bit dramatic for a tiny country like the Netherlands 🤔. And what's the plan now? Are they gonna keep an eye on Nexperia forever? 🕵️‍♀️

I guess the takeaway is that global supply chains are super complicated and we need to be careful about diversifying our partnerships 🌎. But it's also kinda scary to think about how one country can just shut down production in another country 😬.

I cant believe how intense this whole Nexperia thing got 🤯 I mean, I remember when we used to worry about our economy being controlled by Japan back in the 90s 😩 But you know what? It seems like Europe was just sleepwalking through its relationship with China, thinking everything would magically work out on its own. 🙄 The US and EU needed a wake-up call, and I guess that's exactly what they got 💥 Now we're seeing some much-needed scrutiny about diversifying our supply chains. Wish the old days of Nokia dominance were back... at least then we knew what we were getting 📱💻

OMG what a mess 🤯 this whole thing is like China's gonna sue us for everything 😱 I don't know how they even managed to resolve it without anyone getting killed or arrested 💀 Karremans is just a drama queen, if he had done his research he wouldn't have overreacted so much 🙄 and now Europe's gonna be stuck in this cycle of dependence on China forever 🤦‍♀️
