Video Pres. Trump says 'only a foolish person' would be against ending the filibuster

President Trump has come out swinging in his push for Senate Republicans to end the filibuster. In a recent statement, he bluntly asserted that only someone utterly lacking in wisdom would oppose dismantling this long-standing legislative tool.

The President's comments came despite Majority Leader John Thune's unequivocal assertion that overturning the filibuster is unlikely due to the lack of necessary votes. Yet Trump appears undeterred, continuing to pressure Senate Republicans to take action on this contentious issue.

It remains to be seen whether the Republican Party will heed Trump's call and make a move to overhaul the filibuster, which has been in place since the 1970s to provide a crucial check on the power of the majority. For now, it seems that Trump's stance on the matter is far from settled, as he continues to push for a change that could have significant implications for the legislative process.

🤯 just saw the latest stats on Senate filibuster and I'm like woah 📊 According to this chart 🎉, since 1970, there have been only 2 instances where the filibuster was invoked to block a bill - that's like, super rare! 😂 Meanwhile, Trump is pushing for a major overhaul of the system 💥 What are Senate Republicans thinking? 🤔 Also, did you know that the longest filibuster in Senate history lasted for 24 hours and 18 minutes 🔴⏰ In today's fast-paced world, can we really afford to wait for something as long as that? 🕒️ The data is out there, but I guess only time will tell if Trump's stance changes the game 😎

omg u guys this is crazy 🤯 so president trump wants to get rid of the filibuster and i gotta say idk if thats a good idea at all 🤔 it was made in the 70s to stop the majority from getting too powerful and now hes trying to dismantle it without even having enough votes to do it lol what kinda move is that 🤑 maybe trump just doesnt understand how the system works or something 🤷‍♀️ anyway cant wait to see how this plays out 👀

I'm still trying to figure out why they need a filibuster in the first place 🤔. Like, what if someone wants to slow down a bill and make sure it's thought out? I mean, Trump thinks it's a tool for politicians to abuse power 🙄. But what about when regular people want to voice their opinions and be heard? That's kinda the whole point of democracy, right? 🤷‍♂️

And isn't the 1970s a looong time ago 💀? I mean, can't they just make some changes without making it a huge deal? It's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole 🔧. I'm not saying it's a bad idea or anything, but... I don't know, man 🤷‍♂️. Just seems like a lot of drama for something that might not even make a difference in the end 😐.

I'm low-key worried about what this means for democracy 😕. If they scrap the filibuster, who's gonna hold those in power accountable? It feels like another way for them to get away with stuff without being bothered. Trump's always been unpredictable, but this is a big deal...

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole filibuster thing. It feels like Trump just wants to speed up the process without really thinking about how it'll affect the rest of us 🤯. I mean, I get why he'd want to make things move faster, but what's the point if we're gonna lose all that balance between parties? Like, remember when the Senate was supposed to be a place where opposing views could actually work out and create something good? 🙄

I'm not saying it's easy to keep filibusters going on forever, but this feels like a big change that might not even solve what's wrong in the first place. And honestly, I kinda trust the Senate's role in slowing things down and making us think more about our decisions before acting rashly 🤔. Can we really afford to get rid of that?
